Hi

Anyone recognise this heli? - has a couple of Hirobo stickers on frame. Once I know what it is I will decide if its worth restoring

Also was given an Agusta 109A body with plastic retracts - had a Morley cloth badge in the box - not sure though

The picture of the frame is not very good but if it has Hirobo on it, it is either a Hirobo or a GMP.
Where is the fuel tank located?

Thanks, TheWoodCrafter

The fuel tank is located on the opposite side - and seems to fit into a round hole on the the wooden frame

Any idea if there are parts available?

Looking at it again it looks like someone may have put the Hirobo sticker on but it may not be one.
I don't recognize the tail boom attachment or the landing gear.

More and better pictures may help others identify it for you.

Thanks, TheWoodCrafter

Kind of has a close resemblence to a Huges 300C Cricket. Some parts are different like the blade grips and has a cooling fan shroud. The landing gear and tailboom are definately a 300C, but what brand.

Post a picture of the tail rotor gearbox and a better picture of the head.

From pictures of completed GMP Hughes 300C Crickets here on RR, that is NOT one of them, the head is all wrong as is the gear at the rear of the main frame.

Model Identification
The head is all wrong because its not GMP but a Hirobo Mini-star Hughes 300. Link below.

http://www.vrhc.co.uk/RC%20Helicopt...r/Mini-Star.htm

The fuselage is a Morley Agusta 109 and the two will not go together as the Agusta's retracts fitted onto the back of the special mechanics that were made for that model

The pictures in that particular link are a bit confusing, as there are definitely SOME that are Hirobo, as evidenced by the head and the black gear/pulley at the rear of the mechanics. But stitched in among the real McCoys, there appear to be pics of pure GMP Cricket stuff, including the shots of the Hughes 300...take a close look at the head and the gear, then take a look at the Hirobo Ad pics.

But based on the head and the black gear, and the evidence of the Hirobo sticker on the support, the OP does indeed have the Hirobo version, and that would appear to be a rare find indeed.

Agree on that one and I've transfered them to the GMP section (though not uploaded the changes yet). ???

Thanks for the feedback - I will try to track down the missing parts for the motor mount / clutch / fan from the original owner

If I am not successful I am more than happy to pass this on to someone who might have a better chance of restoring this - if it is a rare bird I would like to see it preserved
