Hi Guys,

I'm setting up a GP780 to be used on a 600ESP, for some reason I cannot get the Helicopter mode correct. I'm following the manual but I cannot change the status LED from Red to Green. Green for 500/600 and 700 helis.

This is how I understand the instructions:

Once in step 5 ie. heli mode , if the status LED blinks red , the move your rudder stick eighter to the left or right to change to Green.

Am I doing something incorrect ??

Ok,

After sending this message I went back to my radio and realised that my end points on the rudder were at 40%, changed them to 100% and did the procedure again and it work.

NOW i have a new problem. I'm using a Futaba 10CG radio. The radio is set to GY / Heading Hold mode. When I move the rudder and leave the controls she does not centre. She stays were I moved it to.I played with the gain settings , still does the same thing.

thats what its supposed to do on the bench in HH.its stays to the side you put it at

it will center when you release the rudder stick when in RATE mode

edit. Why were your rudder endpoints at 40??

rudder channel endpoints only control the piro rate with an HH gyro

End points were at 40% because the rudder was travelling way too much,so I played around with the endpoints. I think it had to do with the incorrect heli mode.

Basically I haven't flown since 2004, Flew lots during 1999 to 2004. I used to use a 9ZAP and always had JR Nitro helis. Now I have a new 10CG and Align ESP . Today I hovered not knowing I was on normal gyro mode and the heli function was incorrect. I guess in the morning I will have better flights.

Any suggestions on the % rate for the Gyro on HH mode. The Futaba works 0 to 50% Normal mode and 50 to 100% HH, I thought of 75% for now

the endpoints do not affect travel when using a HH gyro, your travel limits are usually set on the gyro itself(I am not familiar with that gyro)

But the endpoints will control your piro speed, thats it.

as for the gain,I have a 10C and in GY mode you should have a seperate 0-100 setting for RATE and a 0-100 setting for HH.start with 50% in HH and adjust from there

you should have your Gyro set to a 2 position switch,so down is Rate and up is HH
