The best way to learn nose-in and inverted is on a simulator. Once you master them in the sim it will really cut down on the repair bills.

The good news is that Tower Hobbies has all the spare parts and quantity discounts on most. If you order over $100 you also get an additional ad number discount.

+1 simulator. Fly the crap out of the sim before you try it out for real. Do the curtis youngblood practice excersizes. You slowly transition from 3 different orientaions as you go back and forth up and down the runway. Do that nose out, nose right , nose left, slow and smooth. Only move as far as you are comfortable, and work your way up to varying degrees of nose in as you back it down the runway. by the time you have mmastered nose right, you have already got nose-in covered to a large extent.

paint up down,

breathe in nose, out mouth.

I don't know if you have flown airplanes or not. But thats what I did to start. I flew the heli like an airplane. To me forward flight is easier than just hovering.(less fore and aft stick movement). It was easier to just fly straight at myself and turn sharply out of it. Then I worked on slowing it down until I felt fairly comfortable hovering.

Nose In hovering
Hello there I have been flying for over three years. Let me rephrase that, I have been hovering for that long LOL. But no kidding I have been trying to do the nose in thing for quite a while and when it is looking at me it does give me the big willies. It looks like it is saying to me don't you dare do this to me because you are going to screw up some how and you will have to fix me. Now turn me around!. I know the feelings about trying it that is why I brought the Phoenix sim. and I can hover any way you want. I can even do a funnel. But for some reason it does not feel the same as flying for real.Because when I crash all I have to do is hit the reset button, wait there is no reset on it it does it automatically. But any way just keep working on it you will get it and when it does you will have a smile from ear to ear. I know. When I finally got my very first heli off of the ground and started to hover with out going all over the yard and it kinda of stayed in one place, I couldn't believe it and I was smiling Like a proud poppa. Just don't give up. Mike.

Nose in
I can nose in on my sim. no problemos. But when I spun my Rappy around it just took sick. It did its own short 3d routine then SPLAT!I been flying Helis since the early '90s. No 3d but I can fly them around. I tend to put them down for awhile then come back so I end up having to work the rust off my game. One thing is for sure, Helis are a lot more entertaining to crash than planes.
