its been a long build. but its finally going to pay off this was my maiden flight. little windy out but i couldn't wait. i need to add a bunch of expo i was flying straight linear. as you can see on spool up its a little shaky...i realize that my main blades were probably a bit loose but is this typical for a FBL bird? this is my first. once it was in the air it was smooth as silk this is going to be a fun heli.

flying with a helicommand HC3-X its an ultra clean setup. ill post pictures when i have time. im a little busy its farm season in WI

Looks real nice bud. Take your time and get used to it all first. I heard the "Go upside down". The heli sounded nice and smooth.

I really miss my N9, and hope that we see some larger stuff from Synergy hear soon.

Keep us posted on your flights.

Thanks,
Chris

Very nice!! Are you running a FBH head?? The dampeners my be causing the low speed vibe if they're new, if so they will wear in! Looked smooth in the air!!

What motor, ESC and packs are you using?

By the way Chris I logged three more flights the other day on the E9 with the Jive 120!! It was 20+mph winds but man that gov is NICE!!

BOOM! Left hook... that just changed the fight..

Nice! That is a very powerful setup you have!!

I was running the same setup (only 45c TP) until my 160HV roasted inside the nose of my canopy.. I don't want to freak you out or anything but I had that ESC setup exactly as per CC settings. I was actually on the phone with a Castle tech when I went through the setup. Some people have had excellent luck with their ESC's, I have not. It seems purely hit or miss as to if their product will work without issue or fail. I had 6 successful flights on it until burning up a few minutes into the 7th... that was about 2 months ago.

Since then I switched over to a Jive 120+HV. I tried to set it up with the NEU 1920 at first but the ESC would not initialize or let me program it. Then I tried my KDE/NEU 1917.. same thing. Then I find out there is a compatibility issue between the NEU 19xx series and the Kontronik ESC's It really sucks because now I'm sitting on a very low use 1920 & 1917 that I can't run since I don't trust the other NIB 160HV I have. I'm still debating on if I'm going to put the 160HV & 1920 in my other E9.. If it happens again, it will be my fault for trusting it!

Luckily Hobbhut got another 4525-520LE Scorpion in stock and I jumped on it! Have not had an issue since!

BOOM! Left hook... that just changed the fight..

pictures
finally got a chance to take some pretty pictures. the lighting in this old house is nothing to brag about so i had to use some flash. i flew once more today and noticed i was getting a small amount of oscillation in the head. this is probably because my gain is set to high? can you also go to low and get the same effect?

to start with the heli.
radix fbl 710's and 105 tails
thunder power 5000 6s 65c mains and thunder power 2100 reciever
helicommand hc-3sx with 2 spectrum sats, jr 12x
castle ice hv 160, cc pro bec
jr 8717 cyclic, and 8900 tail aluminum horns
NEU 1920 1y motor
Tyler Bonta flybarless head, lunsford links
hyper tail grips, hypertube, hypercollar and hyperguide
i took all the anno off every aluminum piece that was black including the swash, looks very nice in the sun light! haha
added an anti-spark connector to the last negative connection to avoid pitting my castle 6mm connectors.

i moved the esc to the upper deck to help with cooling, hoping this will all work nicely.

let me know what you think!!

more flights
had a chance for a couple more flights each the last few days. my rotor speed was a little low( only 1600) but this think rips!. i got the auto stabilization working on the hc3sx man that takes some getting used to! it feels like you literally have to push the heli to where you want it to go, as soon as you let off the sticks it levels right out and sticks there. i had the motor shaft bearing carrier in upside down due to my pinion being set too high so that needed to be flipped before i went out.what kind of flight times are other e9 fliers seeing? i have a set of 45c and 65c packs and you can really notice the difference in a climbout!
