Hey guys, I got my align 3g setup all set up on my trex 450sa with RJX head. I am a fairly (very) new flyer, and was wondering how to get it to feel more like my other 450 clone with a flybar with the weights still on it. I have the software and cable, so I can mess with all the settings, but I don't really know where to start. I put more expo on it in the radio (dx7), and that helped. The tail is perfect, and the setup is really good, everything does what it should, and is very smooth. It is jus a little too responsive for my flying skills at the moment.

Thanks, jeff

Assuming you set up the proper amount of cyclic in setup phase (middle of recommended range), the easiest way is to toto your Swash menu on the TX and reduce aileron and elevator Swash values by 20%. This is done on TX only, not in 3G setup mode.

I would have said add weight to the flybar, but you have none.

You will not be able to "increase" the stability except by adding heavier, more stable blades, but you will never be as stable as having the flybar. I can pm or post some tricks on that if interested.

You CAN make it "less twitchy" by following Jim Senicka's recommendation.

If you are that new I would recomend stay off the FBL heli until is very well setup, something I am not sure posible with the 3G.

Seek local help of someone that is familiar and knows how to setup a 3G well, not nescessarily a hotshot pilot. Make sure everything is nice and tight, no play, the CG is correct, and the 3G gains are adecuate for the type of flying you intent.

Lots of luck.

3g perfect for beginners imo. its the easiest to setup and the quarks of the 3G don't really show up until you get into more aggressive flight.

get yourself a pair of edge FBL blades or thunder power blades. the edge are heavier and the thunderpower longer. i flew my 3g with thunder power in the beginning and it did great. i now use edge.

just turning down the rates is going to be the biggest thing.

personally i don't recommend over 35% expo on anything. i normally start a new setup at 35 and work my way down to 20-25 depending on the heli.

Who cares... its just money...

Thanks guys, I think I found what I was looking for. In the miscelaneous settings, there is bell mixing and hiller mixing. According to align's recomendations, mine was set for hard 3D flying. I set it up for a beginner, and now it is more stable and less twitchy.
