Yeah, that was pretty solid. I can't stand the cruisers in the fast lane.

There should have been a converaation and a citation issued. I bet the driver returns to their old ways quickly. For that matter, someone so oblivious as to cruise in the high speed lane for so long with the police right up their butt probably doesn't even understand why they threw their lights on and chased them to the slow lane.

That was priceless,

In Florida they passed a law that the only time you can "ride" in the hi speed lane is to pass another vehicle, I haven't seen them enforce it but it's on the books so that would have generated a hefty fine in FL.

I hate left lane a$$holes more than anyone, but, who doesn't slow down to the speed limit when they have a cop behind them?

I thought it was funny when the lights came on, then I thought it a bit funnier when the cop looked as if they were going to pull the person over then I about fell out of my chair when the cop forced em all the way to the right lane then turned his/her lights off and took off LMFAO!

It's not just Florida. The passing lane is for passing. Period. You stay to the right except to pass. It's not a difficult process to understand.

It is for the brainwashed &#$^$&%s that believe it is their moral and environmental responsibility to enforce a consistent below-the-posted-maximum-by-5-10-mph speed across all lanes with their gasoline sipping POSs.

playing devils advocate here...

what was the posted speed limit and how fast was the vehicle going?

It appears to me that the vehicle was not going any faster than ANY other vehicle on the road. With a cop so close on my ass, I'd probably do the same thing! Unless, of course, the car was going slower than the limit. I'm not scared to pass a copy if I'm at the limit, some people will NEVER pass a cruiser unless it's stopped.

It would have be funnyer yet, if the car in front had of tapped their brakes, and let the cruiser rear end him.

Slow drivers beware...
They are looking seriously at ticketing slow drivers as to the amount of back-up and road rage that they cause. It's going to be called The Stackers Law. If you are holding up more than 5 vehicles(you included) from doing the posted limit (within 5 mph either way)you can be pulled over and possibly ticketed for obstructing or impeding the flow of traffic. If it goes into effect, 2 laners will the most prominatly watched, but once the law is on the books they will seek to enforce it on major highways as well. With county and state law enforcement agencies looking to boost their coffers you can bet that this one will start rearing it's head soon. It's also being looked at as a way to get some people off the roads that shouldn't be there in the first place(older people that have had a license but no longer have to pass anything but a written exam, and eye test). Remember also before you go arguing about this that, driving isn't a RIGHT. Its a PRIVILEGE.

I guess thats a good idea. To many Old People on the Road Anyone over 70 should not be allowed to drive.

You will not be young forever.

I did ask a state trooper "What is the safe limit to go past the posted limit?" He said 9+. So I keep my driving to <9+ the limit.

They also look at your brake light. So when I see a cop on the side, I use emergency brake to slow down. It is much easier to pick out someone with the brake light on in the pack.

My pop was an LA city cop back in the 60's and he said he wrote more "impeding traffic" tickets then speeding tickets People would go to court to try and fight it and tell the judge, "I wasn't speeding your honor..."
Judge would say "He didn't write you for speeding, he wrote you up for going too slow and impeding traffic.."

Which is worse, ignorance or apathy? I don't know and I don't care!

The problem is the officer is following too close and should be removed from his position. Officers of the law are to lead by example

It's the speed differentials that cause problems at both ends of the spectrum from the guy trying to do 85 when everyone else is doing 65 to the guy doing 55 in the passing lane holding up 70mph traffic. Both are going to cause problems.

If people had to do 1/100th the amount of training I have to do to maintain my scuba certification, my CPR cert. or my pilot's license, we'd all be much better off. But, that will never happen because you can slap around a scuba diver or a pilot all day long and just keep piling unreasonable regulations on them and no one will bat an eye. Suggest that drivers have to take a remedial driving class every 4 years and that person will be quietly wisked into oblivion because dumb asses outnumber the conscientious by millions and enough of them vote that politcians pander to the DA's.

Yeah, that does look like Atlanta on 285N between 85 and I-20. Interesting as the speed limit there is 55mph and I have personally gotten a $728 speeding ticket for going 79 on I-20.

Now that I'm thinking about it, this reminds me of another well known Atlanta video from back in the day where some Ga. State students were protesting the 55mph speed limit on 285.
