They are too expensive in my opinion.

They should last forever though.

I literally never use the word literally right.

I don't know if they have any left but I bought a set of three cyclic servo's (9080's) from Helidirect for $249 plus another 10% off at the time. I then bought a 9188 when they became available. Overall was a great price for 4 awesome servo's. I'm running the BEC on my Fusion 50 at the max setting of 7.8 volts and it flys awesome.

+1 on the 8717 servos. Lots of power and fast!

If you're not looking to do crack 3D moves, I'm running 6S on a T-Rex 600 and it has plenty of power with a Neu 1515H/2.5D and 11T pinion. The price has come down significantly on these motors. Esprit Models has them for under $230. IMO, it's more than enough for someone easing into a larger class heli. My logic is you're going to get twice as much stick time as running a 12S setup. You do have to go with slight overkill on an ESC to handle the higher amp draw. Mine averages around 85A with spikes up around 140A.

There are many many options but by far the most popular are the Scorpion 4025 series.

There are motors for different lipo setups ranging from 6S to 12S.

Yes, 12S is a popular option... The 12S Scorpion is the HK4025 550kv, I could not find one in stock due to the demand since the Fusion was released, so I went with 4035 500kv that I had from my 700E.

IMO the 4025 is a better choice and I will still use it once they are easier to get. Performance feedback seems to be great on the 4025 and it weighs much less along with likely longer flight times than I will see with the larger 4035....

Torq servos
I use the torq servos in about 10 of my flybarless machines and they are incredible

I love running these on 8volts straight and have had nothing but great luck with them

I even have them for my new tdr

I personally prefer the 4035 on 12s in my 600 mm machines

Performance is great

Btw I used to run 8717's in most of my machines but they get sloppy very quickly .., for longevity you will want titanium gears like the torq or the 8717hv's
