whats up with people and p/p fees? i see several things i would like to buy on here and the sellers are only accepting p/p and require that i pay the fees or send as a gift. so what happened to putting the fees into the price? also they want you to pay for shipping. i understand with some big items but why not split it? is the economy that bad or are people that despreate for money. then on top of it all it seems they still want top dollar.

sorry for the rant but just frustrated

earth ----- my worst obstical

The fees should just be added into the selling price. Screw that add fees and gift BS.

The fees should be included in the price and by all means,YES,the buyer pays for shipping.ALL OF IT.

If I have something you want, you pay for it and pay me to get it to you.

I personally don't say "Buyer pays shipping" but I certainly add the cost of shipping in my price.I'll tack on a few bucks for the drive to the post office too.

I actually don't sell on here any more though.
One too many crybaby buyers wanting a refund 6 months after the sale.

If you want it,buy it.
If you don't like the price or the listing,MOVE ON.

I literally never use the word literally right.

I don't have a problem with paying shipping as long as it is realistic. As far as the Paypal fee thing, a lot of sellers on here have missed out on getting my cash by putting that crap in their add. Be smart people, hide the fee in your price.

Define realistic.

If I want to charge $200 for shipping,I can.
If the buyer doesn't want to pay it,MOVE ON.

At $4.00 a gallon for gas,it costs me $25-$30 to drive to a UPS store.
So the price of postage is not all there is to it.
There are several considerations.
I spent $20 on packing material the last time I shipped a whole heli.

Large stores get breaks on shipping.
We individuals pay premium.

Another reason I don't sell here anymore.
I go straight to ebay.
No low ballers and way fewer stupid requests.

People want you to give it away here and pay to get it to them.

I literally never use the word literally right.

+1 to that. If you don't like the terms move along. Some buyers want everything for nothing then bitch about it after they get it.

I always list the price to include PayPal fees and shipping unless the item is large/heavy and requires special packaging like a large helicopter.
If a seller ask paypal fees as a gift, I skip that one as trying to be cheap and dishonest.

I think about the hereafter. I go somewhere to get something, then wonder what I'm here after ?

I always include all fees and shipping in my price. To break up the pricing is ridiculous. Actually when you open a Paypal account, you agree that the Paypal fee is the sellers responsibility. If you try to charge that fee separately, you are breaking the Paypal usage rules. However, you can include them in your asking price.

Going one step further. Some sellers say Pay Pal only. When you contact them to ask if they will accept a US Post Office Money Order, they say now, PP only. Why, do they consider a PO Money Order no good. Actually, there is more fraud protection with the Post Office. Postal Inspectors carry guns.

Why would a seller want to wait for a money order in the mail when Paypal is instant?

that would annoy the hell out of me and get you put on my 'do not deal with' list. if it says "Pay Pal only" why would you waste their time and ask if they'd take a money order.

further, that would just say to me that you either don't pay attention, or have some sort of entitlement complex...both of which i wouldnt want to deal with after money has changed hands. that kinda stunt is a huge red flag for a PITA transaction.

if it ain't broke, break it.

Its quite possible that the buyer asking to pay by MO may be the only person interested. So by only taking Pay Pal, they loose a sale. Ok, so be it.

Yes, it's pretty frustrating to deal with someone who wants to sell you an item for $85 then requests another 3% and shipping ON TOP. Why not just ask for another $8.99 for shipping which will get a flat rate box and build in the 3% and just ask for $95-100 and be up front and done with it.

Well, there are two sides to every story
If you go online and want to order something, its listed as $85. You click add to cart, go to buy it, and find out they charge you an additional $7.99 to ship it and $5.31 for tax for a total of $98.30.

You guys are all OK with that right? So why are you complaining when you want to buy something and the seller is asking you for postage to mail it? You also may or may not realize, you as the seller have to pack the item, drive it to the post office, wait in line, and pay to get it sent out, and drive back home. So really you're not getting ripped if you take account all that into what the seller is charging you for shipping. Its not just the postage on the box and that's it you know.

And as far as the paypal thing, I myself do this as options:

a) send me a check or money order for $85
b) send me paypal as a standard payment for $85 plus 3% and I round to the next dollar as generally they take some more change, or
c) send me paypal as a personal gift or money owed for $85.

I give the buyer all the choices and they get to decide. Bottom line is, I will net the same amount. So go to the post office, get a money order and mail it to me, pay the paypal fees if you want buyer protection, or save the fees if you trust me.

If I build in the fee into the price and call it $88 then what happens to the person who wants to buy it with a money order? How do they know its $85 not $88? Maybe they will not buy it as the price is more than they wanted to spend? Who knows...so the fee is for the people who want the insurance, not to be built in for everyone.

Make a separate RR- Lowballer's Welcome up to 50% off
