thank you very much for the videos!! I've been waiting for someone to tackle the expert menus! keep them coming. Only suggestion is that you need to get your self some quieter servos may i suggest Futaba BLS252's! I forgot just how noisy the Align/Savox were! I had to get rid of mine after getting my first vbar, the wife complained that she could hear the noise in her sleep and that i was no longer aloud to work on the heli late at night!

Chris even though I watched your videos over a week ago, i'm very happy i did just that because i ended up doing the swash calibration today by following the directions in the book. Had i not watched your videos i probably would of thought i had no real interaction and left the settings alone. Instead i realized that i indeed had quite a bit of interaction and was able to correct them all. Anyhow I thought my X5 felt good before now its much more accurate. I think i have gotten rid of swash interactions which made it feel less accurate than my vbar X5 but now feels as accurate as it. I can see how anyone who has been flying vbar would notice that and compare it to a flybar. I have to say my heli does feel less flybar like but still very connected. If you aren't happy with how your CGY750 is flying...give this a try and see how it feels.

Chris i'm still trying to track down another issue though and i know it affects a few others. I'm having what seems to be like inconsistent roll and flip. The roll and flip seem nice and consistent for part of the stick say 3/4 but the last part it feels magnified and is like 2x or 3x as fast...as if it almost jumps to the cyclic limit. Anyhow i have been playing around with Ail/Elev expert settings and it seems like the rate constant setting should help but i am not sure where the setting should be and why. I have tried adjusting the value at 0, 20,50,70,100% and from the best i can tell 0 seems to be most predictable but it still seems to jump towards the end of the stick travel. Do you have any insight as to what might be going on?

I dont think MrMel will be doing a CGY setup Video. There are some good videos on the other site though, and I think some advanced setup videos were posted also.

I installed and flew the cgy750 this morning, so even if i wanted im not capable of doing any vids on the topic
But i can say this, to be able to make the level of video thats needed for the future more info will be needed from futaba, meaning an understanding on how things are designed (roughly, no trade secrets) but without it, its really hard to fully understand a system.

Trial and error really do not work as there is too many variables on the outside (the whole heli)

Not until you understand it, and take it to the limit and beyond, thats when you can really get it going.

What was your opinion of the CGY after flying it? Does it feel like a flybarred heli to you?

Been two years since I sold my last flybar heli and I only flew like 5 flights with it

But yes, it mimics flybar physics.

Hi guys, i thought id throw another couple out there to see how they go. Id also again mention that i dodnt consider these vids to be in any way the last word on these functions, mearly a first step to hopefully eventually having a definative reference for these functions. I hope others will post up their interpretations for comparison.

As stated by MM, we really need fuller descriptions by Futaba to cover each function in a complete way.

Joe1l, in not exactly 100% on the issue you are experiencing, but i suspect you may benefit from the linkage compensation adjustment. From your description, buy running a minus value, and say 50%, you may get the ends of the travels to tame down a little bit, to aleviate the jumping at the end of the travel.;

Found a bug with Expo....

Chris I have the issue figured out finally. I realized it last night while comparing the swash movement of my vbar X5 to my CGY750 X5. It appears there is some type issue that occurs when you have your DR set to 100% and have expo set in the TX as well as in the CGY750. The issue though is more prevalent when choosing 450/550 size heli but i verified it still exists when choosing 600/700 size but less noticeable. Anyhow simple way to see what i'm talking about is to just set your DR to 100% on Ail and set left side to zero expo and the right to -70 while in FM 2 or 3 for best effect. Anyhow you will see when looking at the swash if you move the stick with no expo it will nice and consistent and smooth through the travel while the one with expo will jump at the last 1/4 stick. You can actually hear the servo speed up for the last bit of travel. If do the same test again with your DR's set to 75% instead. You will not see any jumping and instead will look slow the entire travel. The more ail and elev AFR you have the more extreme the issue is. If you have only 8 degrees it on a 600, it probably wont be an issue but at 10 you should start see it.

Anyhow I went through and decided to just remove the expo from the expert menus for Ail and ELEV and instead i put the expo in my TX. I made some other small changes to the Ail/ELE expert menus to help get me back to a comfortable feel and the end result was much better than i was expecting. Before i was only able to get around 9 degrees of cyclic before it started to feel like it was too aggressive..mostly due to the issue i'm talking about. Now i've been able to up the cyclic to around 12 degrees without it feeling any more aggressive.
Between doing the swash calibration/linkage compensation and then the removing of the expo from the expert menu along with a few other ail/elev expert menu tweaks have really changed the way my X5 and and now my Outrage flies for the better! Much more precise...much closer to how my vbar flies.
