I have my new 11X transmitter. What are some of the install precautions that I should take when installing the new receiver? I do not currently have 2.4 DSMX so I am not sure if there is something extra I should do during install.

thanks for any advice.

Mount the main receiver and the satellites as recommended in your manual. No real trick to it. Don't hide the antenna whiskers behind conductive (carbon fiber) materials.

Make sure the three-wire cable connecting the main EX to the satellite(s) is fully seated in its connector.

Power Supply
I have not used 4.8 volt packs since starting to use 2.4..... if you still use Nicad or NiMH use 5 cell packs and step down for the tail servo.... this will help you avoid the dreaded "brown out" failures....
There is a little learning curve with 2.4 but a strong power supply is very important....

Good Luck... Stan

All my heli's run off of 2s lipo's with regulator's. Why do I see tubing on the antenna wires on 2.4 rx. Do I need to add some tubing?

Tubing
I had sent a couple of rx's in for repairs and one of the Horizon techs gave me a call and suggested that I use Robart Retract air line on the rx's antennas.... this will keep vibration from making them break off.... I think that they are used more on nitro then electric, but I now use them on all, just as a safety precaution...... this airline just slips on and fits the "nubs" perfectly so that it will not slip off and you do not need glue....

The 2s set up is what I am going with on some or a BEC directly off one side of the power batteries... seems both work fine and it depends on the heli I am working on.... but you will not get any brown outs that way.....

I use Shoe Goo on the antennas. Squeeze the tube until the goo starts coming out, then dip the whole antenna into the tube and pull it out. Makes a perfect coating all the way down to the receiver.

Also, it's a good idea to position the two receivers with their antennas 90 degrees to each other. In other words, one receiver with the antennas horizontal, the other with them vertical.

Tubing....
Raptor Ken.... it works on both types.....Jr and Spectrum

I used to do the glue thing, but this is just so much cleaner and works just fine.... have not had a failure since I started doing it and now it is on all of mine... wish they had some "nubs" on the smaller rx's like the 6100's.... there I still use the glue....
