Gents,

The Oil manufactor (Stihl) recommends 50:1 ratio.
The Engine manufactor (Webra) recommends range 25:1 - 33:1 oil mix.

What would be the right mix for a long lasting and hassle free maintainence perspectiv?

Many thanks

I use the Stihl synthetic at 33 to 1 ratio. My Zenoah runs cool and is easy to tune.

Thx for your reply. Will be doing the 33:1.

Was also looking for an explanation as to what is implicit when the recommendation from the Oil company says for example 50:1.
Is that an optimum mix or a minimum/maximum ratio?

Thx

Strangely, I follow the recommendations of the gasser gurus here for my oil/fuel mix ratios and run Sabre 100 at 40:1 (was 32:1 for break in). However, every other 2-stroke thing I own - from dirt bikes to weed whackers, I run the oil company's recommended mix...

I also use Stihl Ultra HP at 32:1 as specified by the engine manufacturer.

I would go by oil manufacture says.
My stil chain saw motor auctuall runs hotter that my heli motor runs. So if the oil manufacture rates it at 50:1 that is what I would run it at.
I have auctually been thinking about switching over to that oil-lot easier to get that than the amsoil I am using now- local johndeer dealer sells sthil. One of these days I might walk out of there with a new toy- those utility tractors look very nice!

This is just a question so please don't you all blow your lids,Has any one ran Sabra 100:1 in there heli for any period of time? I have friends that run 100:1 in there Da's 100's and 150's and 170's with no problems but there all flying planes so i guess there's more air flow. I bought a whole case of Amsoil 100:1 and i want to run it but at what ratio?

Thanks for any replys

I think BiLLMe runs it pretty close to that but not at 100 to 1

Setup is everything, All my heli's can fly far better than I can pilot them
