Watch at YouTube

Finally got around to test flying my new (and first) scale machine. It is a jet ranger on my 20cc size gasser heli. FBL with beastx fbl electronics. Turning 640 blades but plan on trying some 660's next time out. This was the second flight of the day, just getting used to the new machine but so far lots of fun.

My first venture into scale (pics added)
Can we have some close-up pictures
I dont have real close ups but here are a few I have

The picture below shows how the front part of fuse slides off. I use rare earth magnets and 2 screws to secure it.

This is a modification I added. Sort of a cold air intake if you will. The carb face is pretty close to the side of fuse plus I wanted to give the carb fresh cool air instead of hotter air inside fuse

Not really any room for seats and such but was able to get an instrument panel from skyhunter hobbies in there.

Below shows with the front part of fuse off. Gives access all the way past the main gear which makes it pretty easy to work on. Also shows how the scale muffler offered by century for this machine goes forward. Can barely see it but the exhaust is diverted out the bottom. Also, you can probably see the muffler is pretty close to the side of fuse. I got some heat shield tape from local auto part store and put it on fuse near the muffler area. Dont know if it needed it but certainly can't hurt.

If anyone wants a pic of something else just let me know and again thanks for the nice comments guys.

Pull start.?
Zman, Did you cut a hole in the bottom for a pull start.? Thought I saw something on the bottom of the fuselage in the video.

Also, did you paint it or did you get a painted one.? The metallic blue strips looks really nice.

st,

no pull start. Probably what you saw in video is the screen opening where the fan air exits.

This is painted version. I would like to paint one down the road but plan to get the right equipment first and practice a little. I must say I certainly couldnt have done as good as job as this painted one. The quality is very good.

I am hoping to get another video this weekend at the break of day when it is still a touch dark out, see how the lights look. Hopefully anyway.

Thx

Cant wait to see the next video.
What head speed are you running.?
What ratio.?

Sorry for all the questions. I am going to do the same fuselage in the future on my G20. Just trying to get all the info that I can get.

I painted cars for 18 years, so I will get the unpainted one and give it a go.----- save a lot of money.
