We've had three really warm and sunny weekends in a row here in Yorkshire and I'm finally doing some thorough practice! And even more, practicing the sorts of things I need to!
Here’s a full HD video of me flying my 12S EMax (VMax/Raptor 90 electric conversion) at YMAS in the style that I teach others to fly on the buddy lead.
Practicing Top-Hats, side-on and some nose-in hovering, trying to come to a full-stop before touching-down (when I remember) and getting settled-in at the top of short vertical climbs, using large trees and the tree line as visual markers.
So here's me trying to fly sensibly!
The idea was to fly flat-and-level at walking speed as in the BMFA A certificate but when flying like this I’m dying the entire time to go nuts and start throwing it about!
The flight progresses into some figure 8’s with the ends turning towards the pits and the cross-over flying away from myself. Some tail-in circles that get slightly faster then some pirouettes before flying up and down the tree line doing some 180 stall-turns that progress in to completely vertical 180 piros just above the tree line. Followed by a figure eight, turning away from the pits this time with an aileron flip and inverted, nose-in hover with some more piros.
Finished with some faster turns and a loop, entering and exiting no lower than the tree line, then a slip-in to land as the motor starts winding-down.
Almost ten minutes air time on a very old 12S 4000 pack.
