Has anyone set up a CGY750 on a Futaba 10CHG? There is only 1 Gyro in the gyro min on the 10C how are you guys getting around that? Is Futaba going to have a update for this radio?

The problem is that the 10C does not have 10 proportional channels (only 8 and 2 on/off channels). The hardware does not allow for firmware upgrades.

You have two choices.

If you fly EP or do not use the governor you can use channels 7 and 8 for A & E gain control.

If you use the governor then you can set gains manually in the CGY. Once you get them tuned you don’t need to adjust them any more so that’s not so bad of an option.

This is what I was thinking but how would I get around toggling in and out of HH after the trim flight?

I have never flown without HH. For trim on a calm day I just hover in HH and see if it drifts. If it does then I adjust the servo linkage a little. It works for me.

The first helicopter I setup (Raptor E620) I had the swash level and it flew perfect in HH so I did not have to touch anything. If you spend some time on bench setup there is a good chance that it will require no trimming. It’s easier than you might think.

There's still no problem with doing the suggested and advisable trim set up with the 10CG. All you do is put the gyro into NORMAL mode in the AIL and ELE gyro basic section. Hover the model and get it trimmed. Then land and put it into AVCS mode. It'll memorize the trim settings. Shut the helicopter off, center the trim on the transmitter, reboot the model, and go fly.

I have my 10c switchable with HH and Norm mode.
You do have to adjust gains in the 750 though.
Im at work right now, will have a look at my TX when I get home tonight.

For the love of the hobby

Last I heard was that the adapter would be out in May. Does any Futaba reps have better estimate?

Best checks on availability is Tower's site. Reps don't get much if any future shipment information. SKaluf (who frequents this site) works for Hobbico/Futaba and usually has the best information and does post such information when asked.
