My question is if you had it made in a machine shop as an exact copy, then any potential stress risers that were in the original would exist in the copy. One would have to look at this and see what the issue exactly is.

I have to admit mine has been on the shelf as the month of May is quite busy for me but now that I have some time, I may pull the hub off and take a look at it closer.

We actually just got them about an hour ago. PM me your addresses and I will get you guys taken care of.

The difference is the spot where the hub is breaking is now a large filet to eliminate the stress riser that we beleive is causing the hubs to break. There are also small rubber O rings that will be included with them much like the ones used on the Vibe 90. This should eliminate the problem.

+1 on that.

Don't know of any other manufacturer that goes to these lengths to ensure that their customers are happy and that issues are addressed.

Actually when the Kasama Srimok first came out there was a problem with the start shaft breaking, Mr Kasama graciously replaced them at no charge. So Curtis Youngblood products are supported at the level of the boutique manufacturers.

We discovered today that there was yet another manufacturing issue with the new tail hubs, and will not suggest flying with the new one we sent you. We apologize for this situation, as we know it is frustrating. We are frustrated by it as well, and are working very hard to determine what happened, as well as how to prevent it in the future. Keep in mind this was a process error, not design flaw error. So we should be able to solve the problem quickly. But of course only time will tell.

We would ask if you can to send the ones we sent to you back so we can get credit for them from the vendor that made them. If this is an issue let me know and I will do what I can.

Have a great day, and again, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.

We are going to test ever single one. It shouldn't take too long, but we want to make sure they are good before we send them out.

My ENV is 10-15 days from being finished, I think I'd prefer to use a new design hub.

hi brian,

I contacted you 7 weeks ago with my failure and you discussed my case with curtis and you agreed that you would sort me out.

I am not sure if I am still on your list as I have not heard anything from you and you have not answered my latest pm.

could you please confirm what is happening with me?

FYI everyone that was sent a hub, but was asked to send it back will have that hub tested right then when it shows up. When deemed good it will be sent directly back to you. So there should be very little down time with this situation.

Again sorry for this delay guys.

Brian...out of curiosity...just what kind of testing are you performing?

An electric motor connected to a modified tail spinning at ~10k RPM with a set of tail blades and cycling through the pitch range, then X-raying the output shaft for cracks...

Something like that?
