I just bought the T-rex 450 Pro Super Combo. It comes with the Align GP750 gyro and my T-Rex 700e has the Futaba GY401. I was thinking of using the Align GP750 on the 700e and the Futaba GY401 on the 450. Any opinions or suggestions?

The 450 Pro is going to be a backyard beater and the 700e for AP.

gyro's
I have had both in the past and would say the 750 holds just a hair better but the 401 is still an excellent gyro when set up right,

richvt1,

Thanks for your comment. I would rather have better mechanics on the 700e. I have had no problems with the GY401 on the 700e. I was just interested in hearing from someone who has had experience with both.

The Align GP750 is much better than the Futaba GY401.The GP750 hold's better and is more consistant.Had 2 Raptor 90's and both gyro's on them,Align gyro was by far better and didn't blow out during fast backward's piro move's but the GY401 does work good for a older gyro..

Gy 520
Oh wait that wasn't on the list. I think there both feel the same but if I had a choice maybe the 750 because it's smaller unit....but the 520 is smaller then both

Bladestrikes / OLROY,

Thanks guys. I think I will switch the gyros. The GY401 will go on the T-Rex 450 pro. Even though the heli is brand new, she'll be fine for sport flying. The Align GP750 is a lot smaller than the GY401 and it seems to be made better. It is a nice gyro. It came with the pro kit along with Align servos. If anyone wants a nice 450, the T-Rex 450 pro super combo is great. Can't wait to fly her.

Building a 700e. Why skimp on that. Build it with the best!
You're spending $2200.00 on a 700e. Whats an extra hundred bucks gonna do besides give you a much better gyro.
Personally, I wouldn't put either gyro you mentioned on a 700 anything.
Although if I had to choose between the two... Futaba all the way.
My experience with align is limited and I'll keep it that way.

The GP750 is a decent gyro, but if you really want a locked in gyro with no hassles, get a Quark. I had the chance to fly one on my Trex 600 before I gave it back ( it was a loaner ), and I was so impressed with the holding power that I would definitely buy one. I put a GP780 on the heli instead, and spent 20 flights trying to get it to work right without wagging. Other people have had similar results with the GP750.

I have an Align 750 sitting in a box. Tried it on a few different helis (from 700 to 450) with the exact same result -- wag. I got close, but could never eliminate it. On my 700 I replaced it with a GY520 and solved the problem instantly. The last heli I tried the 750 on was a TT Mini Titan. This was about a week ago. Tried mounting in different locations, different tape, etc. Always had a slight wag. Replaced it with a 401 and bam -- rock solid. I've never had an issue with the 401s. I think I currently have 4 or 5 helis running them. Just my $.02.

i love the 750's over the 401. i refer the setup and never have to worry about the gyro not in HH mode when initializing (blinking red light on the 401)

I tried it all -- 3M tape, Zeal, Futaba pads, etc-- never could get it to settle down. Dropped the 401 in with the tape it came with and spent my time flying instead.

GY401 has problem in holding the tail in backward hurricane. GP750 is better.

Thanks for the comments. This topic seems to be all over the board. Some love the 401, others the 750. I guess personal opinion and experience.

Sport flying and AP...he didn't saying anything about hard 3D

Any of the two will work for your needs bro..the newer of the two would be 750

Gyro are going so cheap on RR these days..you can always upgrade to 520 or 760 for $80 I've seen on here.

I have the Spartan gold case on my 450 pro and 780 on my 550E both are rock solid.
I've dialed the 750 dead nuts on my 250SE

Slap them on and go fly

Hi Guys

I would leave the 401 on the 700e..... firstly it is installed and working and secondly, for sport/AP flying it is a VERY good gyro with little drift etc.

I do agree the 750 is a better 3d gyro. Considering a 450, you need a good gyro just to fly!!!

Regards
Paul

Clearly from the reply's,the Align gyro is the better gyro.Put the better gyro on the heli you like more or better yet, sale the GY401 and buy another Align gyro .You can sale it for $60 buck's and buy a new Align gyro from the sale section for $60 buck's,even trade for a much better gyro..The GY401 isn't consistent at all, blows out during fast backward's flight and blows out/doesn't hold if the heli bog's enough.I know your not doing 3D or anything but I would want the better gyro on the best heli but that's just me.
