Based upon my experience, I believe that the 4525-520 is actually a little bit more efficient than the original 4035-500. It seems to make more power when you need it, but consume less power when you don't. So cost aside, it is my opinion that the 4525-520 is better than the original 4035-500.

I have not tried the HKIII version of the 4035, nor have I tried the 530kv version, but Scorpion says it about 8% more efficient than before.

So in the end, the HKIII 4035 might be a powerful, efficient motor at a good price point. However if I had a choice, I would go with the 4525-520. It is great little motor. Very happy with it.

I don't think you can go wrong with either choice. I fly Scorpion motors in all of my helicopters.

I have a 4525 520LE for the 700E and have not installed it yet since the 500kv is working great. Im actually concerned it might be too much motor and I might run into issues destroying gears
I had the opportunity to get one and figured if they were a limited edition and only so many made, I didnt want to be left out....

I also only run Scorpions and have had nothing but great results. You will be happy with any of the 4035s guys are running from the 500kv to the 560kv.

you could always try the new hacker A50 turnado's

i put one in a vibe 90 SG E12 and it was pretty smooth and had pleanty of torque.

downside was that heli was setup for an F3C stuff so i didn't really work it.

worlds better than the turbine crap they were putting out.

Hi

Yea, had looked at the new Hacker stuff. kV's don't suit a stock Trex700. 400, 470 or 580.....

I liked the design of the 'old' Hacker motors..... Blow the hot air out the top

Why don’t they have a better selection of Kv like Scorpion?

470 is perfect. if you get the right pinion on there. likely 13-15 somewhere. you will have more gear mesh and less stripping. i just don't know if they will keep up like the scorpions.Who cares... its just money...

Yes the 4525 will work on the 700E, requires the metal elevator mount or a bit of dremmel work, but that's easy to do.... Im waiting on bullet connectors and will then install mine with the metal servo mount.

Here are a few pics from EdvardR on HF

Yes, its close with the plastic mount but with the metal it gives more clearance on the servo side. I believe the mount is open on the motor side and the clearance is the edge of the servo side to the motor housing(few more mm)

I gotta admit that motor looks sweet I really like how they added the logo on the bell

Sorry about getting OT Pwood

Here is a picture from align with the mount installed

Well...

Got the HK4525 520 installed and flew it this past weekend. Amazing power!

Went with FEP at 90% for the first few flights. KDE gear only lasted 5 flights

Just replaced the KDE with the Align slant gear. Will get a few flights on it and the switch over to the gov.

If I had to do it all over again I think I would go with the 4035 530, the 4525 is just too much IMO. Have not checked the logs yet but Im going to experiment and try to go with a lower HS. When pushing it hard it seemed to really suck down the packs, but did seem to be the same as the 500kv when taking it easy...

I thought the metal servo mount was supposed to go the other way, with the metal side between the servo and the motor to act as heat sink so the servo doesn't get as heat soaked.

I have my metal servo mount installed that way. Still plenty of clearance.

Wouldn't the thermal properties of plastics be better for a heat shield? It seems to me aluminum is a very easy thing to pass heat through... I vote for clearance and rigidityWho cares... its just money...

Andy, the tight fit is using the 4525 520 motor. Do not think it would work with the metal between servo and motor.

I mounted it with the opening on the motor side.

I took the dremmel to the plastic mount and it seemed to still be very rigid but replaced it since I had the new mount....
Think the plastic is prolly better at reducing heat as noted, but I've already changed them.

Scorpion HKIII 4035-530
I'm thinking about a Scorpion HKIII 4035-530 in my TREX 700E. It will be powered by a Kontronik Heli-Jive 120HV. what pinion size would you guys recommend? I would like the headspeed at 2100 in idle 2.
