No more are proper ethics or personal moral's used to conduct business.

Their used to be a day when honor was a man's word, and a handshake was a guarantee.
There are plenty of ethical folks dealing in RR. I had the pleasure of dealing with mamy of them.

Only once in 5 years had a bad experinced where I bought something from really fuzzy posted photos and it turned out to be a kludge of wrecked with new parts, not an upgraded R50 as I thought.
I learned not to thrust anyone that post fuzzy pictures, had scattered communication, or could not prove the item is in acceptable condition if I asked. I don't care for anyone who does not sign their real name while responding in a PM.

*If I see an item I want, and is reasonable priced, I OFFER THE ASKING PRICE.

*In some cases I would pay a bit extra to have the item insured when shipped.

*When is a high dollar item, I insist in talking one on one over the phone, whether I am the buyer or the seller.

The RC Heli community is not a huge one. When you have been in the hobby as long as Ive been you know YOU WILL BUMP INTO PEOPLE. The last thing you want is to be screwed, or screw someone over a sold item.

Bottom line when making transactions, $$$ talks, and respect the other.

Plenty of great, honest people in RR, just have to research.

Im not even mad about it, it is what it is, run your RR ad how you see fit. But those types "first to paypal me wins" are usually hiding something. If anyone cant give me at least 12 hours to answer my questions as a potential buyer through normal dialog then I see how it really is on the respect level.
Why should someone postpone a sale because you have questions?

I would answer questions. No problem but the item is still for sale and if someone says I'll take it while you're asking questions, then they'll own it.

People who want to disrupt a sale...The ones that think they're entitled to something...That's the rude ones.

I literally never use the word literally right.

We all have the need to get the best deal almost at anything ..

For that reason we 're wondering in these forums for hours.

So BBB it's sad to have another guy 'stealing' your deal but
it's also quite happy ,for someone else,to get a nice deal.
By that way the balance of the universe is being kept and the time
passes by peacefully.

When you are buying used items, you are swap-meet shopping, and typically the only people who matter and get the good deals are the ones ready to buy immediately. Typically you are not going to get dollar-store prices with Nordstrom's service. I personally will hold items for people for specific time if they ask, but asking for pics is not a request to hold an item, it is just window shopping in most cases. Most guys who see a good deal check the feedback and buy, I very rarely put pics because the buyer already knows what it looks like!!

I'm in a quandary. I've got a motor on a heli that a buyer would like for me to hold, but said he understood if I sold it. It's on a heli that another potential buyer would like to buy as a packaged deal including the motor.

What should I do?

If it was a new item. Yes, everyone would know what it looks like. On a Used item, I think you need photos to help show the condition it's in.

He said he understood if you sold it so I would sell it to the first person that says send me the PP.

If it is a whole heli, or a motor I can understand, but I have had guys asked me to take pics of a 15.00 item before. Im not going to do that.
9/10 times, the guy who asks for pics never buys anyways. You all know that is true.

Myself, I'd contact the first guy, and tell him what's up, and that it's time to make a choice . . . . but I would *NEVER* backstab the first guy without at least an attempt to contact him.

Given the experiences I've had with people asking me to hold stuff, I'd make an attempt to contact the guy who asked to have the engine held and if you can't get a response or he doesn't instantly commit, I'd sell the package to the other guy and not look back.
