I haven't tried it out yet but have an adapter to run 2 160mah 25C lipos in parallel. The 2 batts weigh the same as the stock battery. Just need to figure out how to mount. Flys just fine on the single 160mah batt just have to keep flights to strict 3min flights. Putting back about 105mah after that so not too bad for a $1.47 batt. beating the air into submission...........cool!

If it doesnt work, throw money at it...

Another happy pilot here!!! i think E-flite need to upgrade to extended boom, is the most effective easy mod you can do to improve the perfomance..Thanks
No more tail blowout, more solid flight... and the next thing is a 250mah battery at least...30c or 40c
Finally I have a Turbine heli.. :) Mobb Powercat !!

Pretty solid little bird other than tail not holding when flipped. We need more Beta testers!

I have done the Hyperion 340mah packs.
Flies just fine with them.
I still had some tail issues, but nothing like before, and I can fly for a solid 5mins easy.
I crashed it though, doing half forward flips in my very small back yard
It was doing them just fine, with just a bit of a tail kick, but I had to push and see how aggressive I could get.
Well I found that limit, the tail went 180 and headed for the clothes line, saved it, headed for a bush, the ground saved it in the end lol.
Broke the ele ball off the swash again.
Gonna go CNC when I can.

I relly do feel, Hyperion 340 packs, and extended tail = micro weapon.

When I repair mine, I will stretch the tail too and see how it goes.
What Im hoping for is piro flip ability, multi point flips and rolls, funnells and slow backwards inverted.
I dont expect amazing 3d, just some pretend lite stuff.... its all for the giggle factor that comes with a heli that should not do any of it
For the love of the hobby

Mine works just fine but just to play, I'll make a longer tailboom to see what the fuss is all about. The only thing that a longer tailboom will do is to get the tail assy out of the rotor downwash and that might be why it is more effective.

It's a longer lever arm so with the same or less tail rotor thrust it's able to provide a greater counter rotating force. Pysics at play. :-)beating the air into submission...........cool!

Timp,

Like you I fly Futaba so have been using the supplied DX4, it works okay - but it would be nice to have the choice of pitch setup and swash ARF...

I found out the box the model had more positive than negative pitch so had to manually adjust the links from the servos to the swash.

Cheers

Steve

This is on the stock tail, it seems most of the other expert flyers are also using the stock tail.

When I first got my MCPx the tail held fine during flipping but after a about 15 flights and many crashes I found that when trying to flip it would start uncontrollably spinning. The answer was that the tail blade had lost some of its pitch. This was cured by twisting the end of each blade until it was at 90 degrees (in line with the tail motor shaft and holding it there for a few seconds. The tail now holds fine during flips.

My MCPx also had a problem with excessive tail vibrations. I cured this by blancing the tail blade on a pin and sanding one of the tail blades to get it to balance. Also make sure that each of the blades is the same distance from the boom.

Get rid of the tail fin!
I found out when I wore out my only tail fin that the MCPX flys MUCH better without it. The fin fights any pirouetting maneuvers. And the tail motor/blade doesn't seem to mind it being gone either as far as crashworthyness goes. It's been holding up fine even in numerous fast backwards crashes. Yes, I'm very hard on my little machine
