elkmaster, all you need to do is show up with your camper and I PROMISE you will be fine. Just play it by ear.
This place is HUGE. There is enough room for you and a couple hundred semi trailers at this place. To you and every other first timer who's coming, the answer to every one of your questions is in this thread and about 2 or 3 other threads at least twice.

Thanks guys!!

I'll put this out there;

My tent-trailer is pretty big,,,and I'll be alone. If someone is in a pinch and needs a place to sleep,,I'll have some room. I don't have AC but I do have running hot water,,stove, grill and a generator. I don't mind drinking (I don't) but I don't tolerate drunks very well.

If someone is in need,,,look me up!!

I'm getting pretty excited to go now. Maybe someone can help me tune my nitro,,I just started with a nitro and my ears are not tuned yet,,I could use some help!!

I've never been around other helis,,,for two years now all I have done has been a total solo act,,no clubs around. This is going to be an eye-opening experience!!

See you all there!!

Randy

Bicycles, yes. You will need something to get around with, or you will certainly get your exercise.

I am also tired of being the cruise director. I am probably going alone as well. I think I will drive up on Thursday in my wife's Honda and a bike to do a recon mission (I live 2.5 hours away). If it makes sense I will trailer the golf-cart up for the weekend on Friday.

Hey everyone please repect the enviroment and don't getting into the corn fields with any vehicles. One year someone did 1000's of dollars worth of damage to the corn crop or what ever being grown in the fields. Let's have a good, safety and repectful time!!

Hope there are a few answers to your questions here:

Yes IRCHA is big... a golf cart is the best means to get around. Please be safe, we had someone that was runover by a golf cart last year and we do not want a repeat of that again. The cart rental company will be monitoring and will not hesitate taking your cart if they see it being abused. If you are bringing your own personal cart, you are asked that tires be a turf tires to limit damage. If it rains IRCHA may ask everyone to cease golf cart usage for a short period of time to keep the grounds from being distroyed, this would only be a short period of time... please help keep your AMA site in good condition. Because of the number of golf cart present, we will have small parking areas while purchasing food or visiting one of the many vendors on site. Be safe and use common sense.

Shuttle Buses, there will be red AMA vans running a shuttle between site 3 & 4 about every 15 minutes, so you can take advantage of the airconditioned ride for a short break.

Areas to fly during the event.
Site 5 will be the home of the 2011 NATS that will run Sunday thru Wednesday. No flying other than the NATS can take place on that site.

Site 4 is the main jamboree site. There will be approx 16 flight stations for pilots to use. 1 station @ site 4 will be for scale flying only, please respect these beautiful machines if you are flying adjacent to the scale station.

The IAN tryout & flyoff will happen on site 4 on the West end, one flight station will be closed for a short period of time, the autorotation contest will also take place on the West end of of site 4 also.

Site 3 will have a novice area away from the the hardcore 3D stations to provide a more comfortable area for new pilots to learn and talk/ learn from people volunteering their time at this area. Site 3 will also provide large flight stations for pilots that sport fly ( loops and rolls etc ) IRCHA askes that no 3D flight occurs at this station until after 6pm. Site 3 will also host the Speed cup runs this year.

Site 8 located off the West end of site 4 will be used for 250 & 450 electrics only. ( you can fly your 250/ 450 anywhere ) but site 8 will be nothing but those size machines, again this is less intimidating than flying next to a 90 size machine. Smaller groups all flying the same size will benefit from each others knowledge.
We cannot allow flying off the East end of site 4( across the road ) for safety reasons this is to close to the flying stations of site 4 to have your back to them. IRCHA staff will ask you to move on and not fly at this location. Please respect IRCHA staff and volunteers if they ask you to move back from pilot station etc. they are doing this for everyones safety.

A schedule of events, manufacture demo times & seminar schedule will be in your pilot bag as well as other usful information. There are companies providing social hours on Thursday and Friday evenings open to everyone.

IRCHA radio 100.1will be broadcasting music and announcements throughout the day each day. Tune to 100.1 fm anywhere on the AMA site.
This year the PA system has been improved for better sounding & greater coverage in addition to IRCHA radio .

Camping at IRCHASite 4 camping with hook ups is for sponsors/ vendors and staff. Nearly unlimited dry camping can be done at site 4 in the grassy areas on either side of center stage. Only vendors will be allowed to dry camp behind vendor row. Site 3 camping is strictly through AMA, IRCHA does not regulate site 3 camping. Proper ID must be displayed, AMA hosts will ask to see it in your windshield or on your tent.

Saturday evening dinner and fireworks showWe expect another great night fly and fireworks display again this year. Please be mindful of your AMA site and remove all trash, we will try to have more waste containers nearby. It takes many man hours to clean your site on Sunday AM. Care to volunteer for that one?

Special Note on the One Contest
6.2.1 Donation of prize monies will not be accepted during the Jamboree. Pilot's are not expected and shall not be pressured to donate any prize monies.

Be sure to drink plenty of water and take breaks from the heat. EMS will be on site all week, however the long range forcast is mid 80's and cool nights.

Be safe and have fun!

Latest 10 day forecast shows 80-82 for Thursday - Saturday, sunshine all day. Currently at Site #3, it is 65F and sun is just starting to rise. If forecast holds out, should be outstanding weather, not to hot at all.

Stop it Bobby You mean it is going to be 110 degrees back home where you live, not in Muncie Indiana. I like kcordell forecast much better then yours, you will actually start to scare people away with a forecast like that, including one that is planning on going with me.
