I would like to see Nick Maxwell get ahold of an Xxtreme. He is the best pilot out there IMO and no one can do what he does. I still think the Logo Xxtreme is just going to be too heavy and too slow to compare with 600 sized helis. I love Logos, but the Xxtreme is just too big. Mikado should have gone a little smaller. When u don't feel like soaring through the air with a plane, beat it into submission w/ a heli!

"I just watched Kyle with the Xxtreme, Nick with the Rave and Jamie with the Logo 600. No comparison, Jamie smoked them all! The Xxtreme was just poor IMO. Mikado needs to go back to the drawing board on the Xxtreme. It was dog slow compared to the Rave and Logo 600. This is my opinion! I'm sure some fanboys will now attack me, but I saw what I saw. The Logo Xxtreme is definitely a work in progress. It seems like the power systems can't keep up with a heli of this size yet!"

Doesnt matter what mik or anyone else does for that matter, a big bird can not move as fast through 3d manouvres as a smaller one, fact!
Anyone expecting a bigger heli to do that will first have to rewrite the law of physics.
Common sense may not be common after all

17 lb 800. Yeh I see it being a dog. Should have been about 12 1/2 lbs max. 17 lbs. Maybe 900 blades. Then it's too big for heavy 3D .

It is the pilots choice for style. I am sure with increased agile settings and the pilots choice to fly as aggressively can be done with the Xxtreme easily. I don't believe the XFC competitions are necessarily about pop and snap as much as choreography and & accuracy in addition to creative 3D & presentation, but also isn't limited to slow & smooth either.

An example is when Daniel Jetschin flew the Logo600 FBL at the 2008 XFC flew a known flight that was slow and smooth, and he is a very aggressive 3D pilot. He chose that style for his routines, and again, it was a Logo600. Vbar has the ability to be sickening fast and snappy, and I have no doubt the Xxtreme is capable of such 3D. Also lighter batteries may be coming in the future.

Totally agree, I've said it before in this thread, turn up the V-Bar settings on an 800 and it's as qiuck as any 600 or 700 out there. All you fellas complaining the Exxtreme is too slow need to get an 800 for yourselves and turn it up....you'd all sh!t yourselves the first couple of flights with a quick 800, they are an entirely different beast in the sky.

Pop is what we are talking about dude . It ain't there and can't go there. Acts like a 90 size heli with a 60 in it , like back in the day when a 90 size heli that used 690 but had a 60 in it

misskimo, I'm betting if you saw the machine live in person standing at the flight line close to the Xxtreme in the air while Kyle is flying it I am sure you wouldn't say that. AND we haven't seen the full potential of this machine (i.e. 1900RPM with 800mm blades). Sometimes mere videos do not do justice._Sam B_

Sam2b,
Sounds like you may need to give us some Xxtreme 800mm lovins at Snohomish, I am sensing you likey...
Hey will you let me or Natedog fondle or hover it? We'll be gentle-I promise hehe, and that flybarless stuff, we're still victims of the flybar, show us the light. We'll bring some extra shorts just in case.
Bigger is alwaaaays better!

I think if you wound up the RPM etc you would be down to 2 minute flight times

Yeh. He did fly it well. But you can tell the bird is heavy. 1900 is a good head speed. Yeh in person is when you feel the thwapping sound and power forsure. But for me. The weight of it just tells me that it's about at it's limit . Its Not bad though.

Yes, Dave has already said, turn the juice up and flight time comes down rapidly. That old girl is just too big to stay up with 90's running 2100 RPM.

I think Mikado said it could weigh as little as 5.5kg/12lb as a 700. I don't see it as a 800 being THAT much more heavier even with 14S 5000mAh & a heavy 5035 motor.

As said before Kyle is running 1750rpm & 12 degs. That head looks like it could handle over 2000rpm, would love to see someone fly at that HS with 14 degs or more! Even if only 2min flight times, would need a change of underwear!

Guys, remember power-to-weight ratio. The weight is relative to the power, and 14S and a proper motor and gear ratio is correct what Kyle is running. And 1600mm+ disk is huge to handle it (obviously). If/when lighter batteries come out it will be even better.
I don't mean to dominate the thread - just putting things in perspective.

I was told it weighed 17 lbs with 14s batteries. Alittle over 4 lbs of batteries. Sounds to me those were 14s 4500 or so to be that heavy. My old 14s ion I ran back in 2005 through 2007 weighed 12 lbs with 1 7s3p and 1 6s3p 6000. With this bird. It seams to weigh 11 lbs without batteries.
Yeh I know about power to weight. 14s isn't new to me

Difference is that back in 2006/07 the power in the same sized packs was so low compared to what is today, I tested 14-15s configs back then too, but still my 12s configuration today beats the crap out what we flew back then, totally, utterly without exception.

I have some 7s 5000 45C packs already here waiting

They weigh 990 grams each, compared to 880 on the 6s 5000 of same brand.
