Had to go down to 230%
I had to go to 230% to get rid of the toilet bowl. I noticed that high gains are fine in low wind but in high winds the same gain setting causes issues.

Acbruno,

You will be able to find your sweet spot for all conditions. I usually like to set gains when there is some wind.

The X1/X2 external gains really make a nice feature for quick setups. Of course, the default settings help also. If I get any free time I want to compile a data base of as many DJI customer setups and have them on our website.

Flew the new compass
Went out and demoed a new GPS/Compass this morning.
Installed it, calibrated it, flew it, watched it fly way off to the left.
Rotated it just like the old one and it now flys great, like the old one did.

Dont get me wrong guys, im not unhappy with the product. While all this tinkering is going on, the on board AF100 is running and the footage is great !

To whom shall i send the old compass?

Sidneyw/Robert,
what does velocity tracking do?
The manual says to consult DJI website for details but nothing on the site that I could find. Is it similar to parameter-Q from XP3.1 instructions?

Also, you have parameter-I in the AceOne setup, but again, no mention because it's "advanced" and says consult the website (nothing on the website). Im assuming its the same as parameter-I in XP3.1 instructions as well?

The answer was posted on page 10.
Velocity tracking is to adjust or increase forward flight speed in head wind condition. The bad is after adjustment you are into tail wind.

"I" value is to accelerate forward speed when stick command is given; the bad is it will abruptly pull back in slow down or stop.
So, fine tune as you go. I have some samples from varies setup.

Forgot to mention, in addition to auto take off and landing tail servo frequency response selections will also be added to next firmware upgrade.

Do we need another channel for auto takeoff/landing?
I'm out of channels on my DX-8. Maybe I could use my tail gain channel. Could I lock the tail gain in the software so I can free up that channel?

Auto take off/landing is a "fee" upgrade because it is not something every one will need. No addition channel is needed. Flip to auto mode, move the throttle stick up to mid-point.

Thanks Sidney for directimg me to the post. I need you guy's help solving a flight issue please. Im having some excess movement while cruising. Please see the video below; the gain is on a single knob for both elevator and aileron while I was testing yesterday, trying to get her calmed down. Still, with the gain down low (or high for best hold of photos)Im getting alot of bobbing and random movement.
Im wondering, since turning down the gain doesnt seem to help, what other parameters can I try?

So how does that landing sequence get activated?

I can understand there being a fee to get this feature but any idea how much? I am just assuming, but I would guess that the auto land can work on top of the go home feature? I love this idea because I've always thought the "Go Home" function is great but flawed in the fact that if the transmitter experiences any type of failure you will eventually run out of battery or fuel and crash. With auto land, if my transmitter blows a fuse my helicopter could come home land and spool down so I can unplug it and fix the transmitter problem. If this is how it works it sounds like a safety feature that should be included for all AceOne customers. IMHO

webdr,

Does the heli have flybar? If so, try reducing flybar weight, or don't even use flybar weight will help.

Adam,

What you are looking for is available in Ace Waypoint ground station. But, auto landing take off using radio will have to be with functional radio. Auto in this case is still requiring the use of throttle (pitch) stick.

Sidneyw,

I guess I fail to understand what is "auto" about this change coming to Aceone. You can preform an auto landing now with use of the pitch stick in auto mode. I can understand auto take off requiring a stick command to initiate spoolup and take off to a pre defined altitude. But if it's to be true auto landing, it would have to land on it's own. I'm not going to pretend I know what I'm talking about but it would seem. A timeout could be predefined so that if failsafe return home becomes active after say 10 seconds of hovering above home it would land and spool down. I would totally pay a reasonable price for functionality like that. Trust me as soon as I have a market/need for waypoint I'm ordering one. But if that never happens I would love to have complete failsafe functionality. I'm happy to pay for it if it's possible.

Adam,

Its really semi-auto take off and landing.
Ace Way Point has full auto take off and landing.

Matt,

Waiting on DJI's response for your question.

Ok Robert, thanks for a straight answer.

I will just take as good of care as possible of my transmitter. And maybe upgrade to a better transmitter before anything else.

BTW did you get my email?
