Actually this new clunk gettin it in wasnt to bad. I really like the lynx stuff. Has anyone messed around with different canopy mounts? My canopy shakes so bad on spool up it looks like its gonna fall off i think its due to the break away tabs flexing everything smooths out though when headspeed is gained. Was thinking of the magnetic mounts i think there rcbooya or something?

yeah i had this happen. There was a black sludge coming from the edge of the bearing, probably ground metal and grease. Did you clean the outside of the bearing and then use bearing retainer compound to keep it in place.?

yea i think i mean the bearing is shot and i think the block is shot bearing can just fall out. You think bad runout from the motor caused this? I think im gonna keep it in and fly it for a few days till i get a new one but i bet this is making my fbl unit go crazy!!! Explain yourself a little more about the grease and clip please

If the bearing is spinning inside the block then it will grind the aluminium into a black sludge. Bearing in mind that bearing supporting the pinion/clutch bell is taking a bit of beating from the clutch and some side load from the main gear or if the clutch has run out or the engine not aligned properly.

My bearing just fell out as well but with some cleaning of the block and outside of bearing with alcohol (isopropyl) and a smear of loctite 642 (bearing retainer compound) around inside of block. put bearing back in and leave to set. Mine is fine now. had to do the same on the main shaft bearing, obviously not enough bearing retainer when they come with the kit.

fuel magnets arent supposed to sit in the bottom of the tank, there is supposed to be some boyancy so they sort of "float" in the middle of the tank.

thanks giles im gonna fly a few more time to get my engine tuned then will disassemble again. +1 azheliguy they are boyant mine floats as well but as long as its touching some fuel it will suck. Fuel magnet the way to go just make sure you keep fuel in the tank i know this has been said 100000000000000 times. well in the middle of breaking in my engine so rich its all over the place the 3g not happy how do you guys start to tune the needles from the factory settings? Two needle carb that is. Right now engine wants to cut a little over 1/2 stick so do i start with the low and get it to transition good then tune the high or vice versa all opinions welcome i know everyone has their own methods.

well see i know it kinda floats, but even when the fuel levels goes down the tubing wont bend to keep sucking from the bottom of the tank.

So i guess as long as fuel is slushing around it dont matter right?

what clunk line? And yes as long as its in the fuel you should not have a problem. If you have a low tank and the magnet is still sticking straight out you got the wrong clunk line

only problem with hayes is the magnet will last much longer than the clunk line its made of neoprene and 30% eats it up fairly quickly.Raymond McFaul

Honda this is very important about the hayes cut a piece longer then you need and soak it in fuel overnight it will exspand about a 1/4 inch then cut to lenght. If you dont it will exspand in your tank and will be to big and will most likely hang up. Also it will turn the first few tanks a dark color i run cool power and it turns it like purple this normal and will stop soon after a few tanks
