I know someone was running around taking pictures of all the pilots.

Will those be posted soon?

Another Note for Next year....
I agree it was a nice event but for those of us who were not flying... I didnt think it was very spectator friendly.. I realize that there is the AMA Safety Zone to contend with.. but havinvg a "dirt road" then the Pilots' parked cars, and then their pop up canopies between the spectators and the "flightline" pretty much made it impossible to see anything below 10 feet and impossible to ask any questions.. A buddy and I drove 4-1/2 hours to get there.. We were both disappointed....

Your correct, it was not setup properly for spectators, I dont think anyone expected a spectator turnout. The advertising was limited to the heli community.
After the event I spoke to the organizers and they have some ideas (noon break for spectators to walk through and ask questions amoung them) to make it more spectator friendly next year .

What iflyrc4333 is saying is so true. The vehicles should not be between the spectators and the flight line. There was plenty of parking behind the spectator area. The flying was great (what we could see of it) but an event like this does not only need to be pilot friendly but also spectator friendly. The canopies should be behind the spectators and the vehicles should be no where near the flight line. If you want to see a well laid out event go to Macedon in Sept and see their layout. AMA Event AMA rules. Great opportunity for spectators and pilots to mingle. Maybe an orange snow fence could be erected and the tents/canopies put behind the spectators. Move the flight line out farther into the field to maintain the required 65ft from the spectators. This is a heli event not an airplane event. Just some corrective criticism. The food was good and the people working the event were very respectful. This can become a great event IF changes are made to the flight line and spectator viewing area. No vehicles near the flight line. It's annoying and dangerous. WE are in the heli community and we both fly helis. Just because we don't participate in the flying at an event doesn't mean that we shouldn't be offered the same courtesy as the pilots and flightline attendees. It's no fun if you can't see what's going on. We drove 41/2 hours one way for a disappointing event. I hope the CD takes these suggestions as corrective criticism and not bashing. It's not intended that way.
Jay.

I feel more like I do now than I did when I got here.
