8000mah Batt's

Take a look at using 4 of these... I am haveing excellent results using these and am replacing all of my batteries with these as I need to.. even my Gen Ace's... Stan

Stan,

What do you see as the advantage of 4 of those 4000 mAh packs verse 2 of the Zippy 6S 8000mAh 30C packs?
The price is (currently) less for the 2 packs in the USA warehouse.
Is there another reason you would prefer to have 2S2P?

Why 4??

I was thinking 4 batt's that could be moved around easier to help get the proper c/g that was mentioned earlier..
Plus the pricing is very good for an excellent battery...maybe a few dollars more then HK, but when I started having problems with the HK batteries, I made the switch to Gen Ace, that are a very good battery,but they were out of stock a lot on what I needed, and I found the Haiyin listing in an airplane mag and thought I would give them a try,...I did, and I am very happy with them..we have done testing on them in my scalers and also a power hungy Goblin and a Logo 600 SE....so we have been spanking them pretty hard and they are standing up to the tasks, and a lot of our club members both plane and heli pilots are switching to them also...so I wanted to pass the info on as another option since Christopher J is new to the electric side of the hobby...Just a differnt way of doing things...Also on the home page you can get a certificate for an added 10% off the total..

So to get that to work one would have to connect two packs in series then those two seperate packs in parallel to get the 8000Mah?

I like the idea but will more then likely go with just two packs of 8000 each. There is a weight difference of 296g between 4 packs @ 658g each and 2 packs @ 1464g each. Weight in in the favor of 4 packs, but space is in the favor of 2, so I'm going that route.

Thank you for the idea though. It's nice how we scale guys are always looking out for each other.

Christopher J, you are correct in the way that you would use the 4 batt's..sometimes easier to hide in the heli with the smaller packs..

That's whats nice about bigger fuses, you can get creative and hide packs under the floor boards and go in series. Only drawback is removing them to charge. You can charge them in the heli, but you're taking your chances if you have a charging mishap. Another nice benefit of running 4 packs, is when you have a bad cell. You only have to replace a 3S pack VS replacing a 6S. Too bad you don't have the room...
BarryAll helis and planes have an expiration date stamped on them...you only find it after you crash!!

I think if a cell goes bad in the four pack options descibed, you would need to replace a 6S 4000mAh pack, verse a 6S 8000mAh pack. Running Stan's option there would be four 6S 4000mAh packs to give 12S 8000mAh total capacity.

Agreed. My bad, I was just talking in general terms, not specifically to this combo. Should have said 6s. I used to run 3s packs in series and parallel in my giant scale planes. It was more economical that way and it left me a lot of options when it came to CG and hiding packs.
BarryAll helis and planes have an expiration date stamped on them...you only find it after you crash!!
