I've been looking and can't find what I'd consider a good answer. I don't do 3d at all (sacrilege for a Logo, I know) and I don't want/need 8V, high speed, high torque servos. I'm using a set of Futaba 3152's on a L5003D which work fine for me. Would these be OK on a 600SE? I'm thinking something with a metal gear is preferred, but I don't know which will meet my needs without being "overkill"...Any help?

Se, so FBL, yes? 3152 are going to be too slow. Im flying the spektrum 6040s, they do well and are not too bad at about $70ea. FBL demands fast accurate servos.

How much do you want to spend??? BTW with VBAR you will want servos faster than .10 to really make it work well

Awesome..thanks for the fast feedback guys. Yes, I will be FBL. So most anything as long as they're about .10 is good enough?

and like you said, metal geared may be worth while. InoLab makes a decent, moderately priced servo as well (available from a front page advertiser)

So I'm about to pull the trigger on the Spektrum H6040's...Is anyone running them on the tail?

my mix of good servos vs economy was futaba 9452's on cyclic, bls 251 on tail.

if you look around you can find 9452's for $65 each, and 251 for close to $100

So I got the 6040's and went with a 9256 on the tail. I'll step up to the BLS251 as soon as they're available at ReadyHeli (and I got the funds).

About to get the Motor/ESC combo. I think I'm going with the Hyperion 4035-560 w/CC ICE HV80 since RH has it on combo with about a $35 savings. Does anyone recommend against that? In the first post I said I didn't do any 3D, but I've been working in Phoenix Sim and may get into it this season...Maybe I need to increase my budget

That motor esc combo will work nicely as far as i know. i run the ice h0hv and its a good controller, play with the gov setting and you can get it governing pretty good, under hard 3D with 30C batteries, i usually only get about +/- 125 rpm or so even with 13ish degrees of cyclic.

That motor and ESC combo will work.

Don't forget to also get a BEC...I suggest the Western Robotics Hercules pro bec 14S.

For around 140.00$ more you can have the all powerfull BEC and ESC in one (Kontronik Hv80). You should think about it for such a big heli.

I'd like to go with the Kontronics jsut not sure I can afford it right now. Of course, I could sell the 5003D to pay for the 600SE...hmmmmmmm

I have a CC BEC Pro on hand that I was thinking about using. I know there is some hate/discontent for this BEC so I may just scrap it. I don't want my new bird to smoke on the first flight...

Was thinking about upgrading the 500, but by the time I bought all of the upgrade parts (head, tail, belt, tailbox, etc) all you really need to make a complete heli is the frame set. I just happened to catch a set in the classifieds for a good price so I picked it up...
