Thinking about getting a 250 or 450. I was wondering what are the best performing batteries for the MONEY. I want a 450 but was going to get a 250 because batteries are less, but when I started shopping around I seen some really good prices on batteries. I bought cheaper ones before and they puffed in no time.

Thanks for any advice on cheap but good batteries.

Hit or miss some times. I have had high end packs puff and not make it 75 reliable flights. And I have had these last me over 100 flights and still going strong.

Also depends on your flying style.

(Just to add--I break my packs in carefully)

I have been having good luck with the HK stuff on the 450, getting a 2200mAH 40C battery for less than 20.00 is pretty good. they won't last as long as a Thunder Power, but hey you can get three for the price, so collectively they win! LOL

HK batteries from their US warehouse are hard to beat. It will be even better when their US warranty centers is going so you don't have to send returns back to Hong Kong.

Voltz are the next best IMO. They've been reliable for me and although their warranty states claims need to be made in the first 7 days I'm going to guess it would still be easier to work with than HK.

My general approach has been HK for batteries in the $25 and less range. Above that I try to stick with Voltz.

Not sure what others experience is with them but so far I like the nano-tech's and intend on buying more of them. Voltz would be a good 2nd choice for me.

I've tried many different brands of batteries. My conclusion is they are all pretty much the same. I don't seem to get more cycles out of my Hyperions than my HK. Only my HK internal resistance increases faster than my Hyperions, but in the end only a small feel of power is felt, but not necessarily more cycles.
Good luck on choosing.

I like voltz packs! Charge fast and hold up well with no puffing so far. around $12 for a 3S 850mah pack for the 250 and from 30-40 (depending on C rating) for a 3S 2200mah pack for the 450

One more battery you might want to take a look at is the Pro-tek at Amain. Really great battery in my experience. I have a few. They are around $35 but if you accrue points and hunt for coupons, you can get that price down.

Amain has great service. The Proteks come with deans already soldered and the quality is top notch. I have tried hard and have not been able to come close to puffing them. They are solid.
