Has anybody had to remove a QuickUK fan from
a YS91ST engine. I'm having real trouble even
after heating and trying to use a flywheel puller.

Is this fun or what :)......

Did you originally put that fan on the motor ??
Or did you buy it in a package that way ??

Just guessing that the fan screws off ??

Been there, done that and old enough to know better.....

The UK fans are centered with collets on top and bottom.

I bought it from a fellow here on
RR. It would help to know if the
QuickUK are threaded or not. Thanks
for help so far.

They are not threaded.

Thanks all, was able to lock the crank
and turn it off. It galled the threads
on the crank some but nothing fatal. I
don't know if I'm very fond of this design.
Oh well, probably comes off easy if you
do it correctly to start with

For future reference....
If you lubricate the collets on that type of system prior to intalling, not only will the assembly "center" better but the lube will minimize the chances of having the issue you experienced....

I like to use a product designed for that purpose such as "NeverSeeze" grease. There are different companies that make it, here is one example:

Your local auto parts shop will have it in small quantities.....

Been there, done that and old enough to know better.....
