California Traffic Tickets Fines Effective 01/06/2011

THE LOS ANGELES TIMES HAS AN ARTICLE ON THE SUBJECT:

"FLOORING IT ON CAR FINES". PASS IT ON TO YOUR FRIENDS AND ACQUAINTANCES!

HUGE California Traffic Tickets Fines Effective 01/06/2011

Please be extremely careful in your driving and car registration & insurance matters. State of California is broke and they are trying hard to squeeze all of us hard to collect money.

Effective immediately, if you do not stop at the red light, be ready to pay $436 in fines or if you pass a school bus with flashing red signals, you will be charged $616. The state of California is going for blood, so be extra careful in driving, You cannot afford messing with them. I have been hearing that Highway Patrols are under pressure to issue a lot more tickets than last year with at least 30% increase in fines over 2009, so beware of radar guns, highway and traffic cameras installed everywhere and the tougher enforcement of parking rules.

Just for your info, the next time you park in the handicapped zone, even for a minute, you will be looking at almost $ 1000 in parking tickets , so it'd better be worth it.

California needs money, so pay close attention to the rules of the road!

Reminds me of the speeding ticket I got during the summer. Driving 79mph on the interstate through Atlanta and they wanted $738 for it.

...or, you could just follow the rules of the road and not worry about it. I think ALL states should be that tuff. Good for California I say.

I agree with you 100% and I live in California and will be traveling down to and through Los Angeles this weekend. I do not understand why people can not just slow down and stop when the light is red.

it's rarely about "the law". It's most often about making money. Our cops have huge ticket quota's. Our city makes a LOT of money from tickets.

yeah whatever, the fines are already higher than that when you factor in all the other stuff..

I got caught doing a "california stop" at a flashing red, with no other person anywhere around (except for a motorcycle cop of frikin course!)

Ticket ended up costing me $750, this was right near LAX, because of other county fees, and traffic school and blah blah. SICK! For barely rolling and not coming to a freakin complete stop! I HATE COMMIEFORNIA!

Wow that is some hefty fines for sure.
But then if you dont go over the speed limit you never pay so it's optional.

Too many choose to pay, and many balance the cost of fines to the benefits of speeding so they will have to adjust their sums to suit these fines.
The value of getting somewhere faster v the cost of the fine will make it less profitable in the sense to speed for some benefit.

Lucky they dont put radar guns on my pole systems, it'd be game set and match for anyone speeding on highways, with them pinging cars for a half mile in each direction covertly without drivers knowing it, they would make a motza of cash with fines like that.

I may get a ticket for going too slow. I just got a new 2011 Nissan Armada with 18mpg highway. Still trying to find the sweet spot for max mpg. While others are doing 75, I'm doing 65 and still adjusting down from there.

Red, I have an 07 Xterra and I found that my MPG drops severely above 65mph, if I use the Cruise control I get about 19mpg highway. Love that MPG display! Helps me keep my foot off the accelerator pedal!

.
Now that one I agree with.
If they had that fine and enforced it here in central Florida, we could fill the state budget in a month.

I think about the hereafter. I go somewhere to get something, then wonder what I'm here after ?

Do people (not disabled) actually park in one of those blue signed parking spots?
