I really like my 450Pro. Couldn't find a Super Pro Combo at the time, so I installed JR servos and a Spartan Quark gyro.

The one and only complaint I have is the button-head screws strip out easily. Mine was assembled at the factory and stripped disassembling it checking for Loctite. I would get a package of spare button-heads, because sometimes you'll have to cut a slot in the head.

I have been super pleased with the RC Screwz kit for the pro... there is a bunch of stuff you don't need in them, but they supply all you need to have a very serviceable frame set!

Solder
In the past I always used Deans Racing Solder. LHS by me does not carry it anymore I went to Radio Shack and picked up some Rosin Core 60/40, will this work well or should I place a order for Dean Solder?

1C always safe to do, in your case is 2.2A approx. 30-40mins

Some can be up to 5C, but high C rate charge = high risk.

(Good flight end up with ...... big smile :D)

i have the 450 pro for almost two years,i bought mine when it first came out and so far the pro rocks every time i fly it, great small heli i love it. Now i have it with the v bar and having a JR radio is the best becouse i don't need any receiver and less wires ,less weight.
i fly it with some 2200 mah batts that give me 4 1/2 min of hard 3D .I am still using the DS410M servos from align they work great and they are fast, i did change the tail servo for a futaba 9257, other than that the heli still stock.
mcoccia you will love this little heli,it'll give you many hours of fun and it will work really well if you do some maintenance everyonce in a while ..

Thank you!
Guys,

I just wanted to thank each and everyone of you, I really appreciate the help!! I can't believe that I could not remember a simple Battery rule of thumb...I must have been in a COMA.

I just went Ace hardware and they had the Solder with the flux and much better soldering gun....ACE IS THE PLACE!!!!

I will start building her tonight when the kids are on the way to bed. People who know me know I do my best work at night

If I have anymore stupid questions I will be sure to post them...glad I am back in the RR community again, members are so helpfull here!!!

Did you guys know the newer kits come with the Align 780 gyro? I was expecting the 750 and to my surprise the 780 was in there.

I have TP 2250maH 45C and charge at 5C no problem. They are rated to 6C and charge in 10 minutes at that rate.

i made a solder block it makes that 3rd hand possible i drilled a hole in the top for doing the bullet connectores

i have two of these solder guns and they work great. way better and more heat than those little pencil soler irons

i have 5c charge batteries. this is 11amps on 2200mah battery. at 8 amps this 1o minutes or under depending on the amount of mah i ha e to put back. i use the turnigy 200watt charger.

even a 2c charge rate is 4.4amps on 2200 battery and chargers pretty fast.

Elevator servo mounting issue
I ran into a snag. The screw holes for the elevator servo do not line up with the metal blocks, looks to be about 2mm either way. Has anybody heard or seen this issue before?

i only charge my batts at 1C , charging at 4C 5C will only stress the cells and the batterie will get weak faster,i have a hyperion dual charger and i can get two batts charged up in 40 min at 1C each, that way my batteries will give me more cycles ...
that 3rd hand looks owesome

1C is a good rate for a HK Lipo. You asked about TP 45C packs. The TP website says explicitly 45C packs can charge at 6c and are designed to take the stress. If you charge at 1C why didn't you buy 10 or 15C packs.
