Fla heli: I guess you could go to the HD and not talk to the manager, but strike up a conversation with whoever is working in the area you are interested in (contract. sales, plumbing, whatever). Ask them how did they get in. Maybe you could resort to outright bribery - bring some 100's.

I have a friend that got of of Federal prison 2 1/2 years ago, he's in his early 40's with a felony record. He applied for Home Depot and got hired on the spot. He has been working there full time for two years now. I guess its different for each City/State, but if he can get a job, I'm sure you all can find one too.

Take Care,
Cheers, Patrick

haha - I tried that 92. When I couldn't get face time with the manager, I tracked down a chubby little "chica" that's been flirting with me for 2 years now. I played the game a little, told her she could sexually harass me every day if she would just get me hired....
Saint: funny thing. A secretary I worked with and have known for several years was originally from Hawaii. She's lived here for like 20 years. When her oldest went into college, she started applying for work in Hawaii. Her second application got a hit and she was hired on the spot. They even paid to relocate her and her daughter. She's very good at what she does, but in the end, she's just a secretary. You guys must have a lot of jobs available for them to hire somebody from Florida.
I am starting to think I'd be better off dumbing down my resume'. I'm sure I'm not getting hired because of my past pay rate and what I did.
I'll take most anything now and have been saying that for 2 years. I got over my pride a LONG time ago.

Paper and shoe leather is still the way to go.

heard a while back (before the mess) that most jobs were never advertized, pretty sure it is even more so now.

They will hire anyone because nobody here wants to work, lol. Its sunny and warm here 365 days a year so there are plenty of things to do. Occasionally we do have an overcast day, but you can always drive to the other side of the Island it will be sunny, lol.

don't think I can argue with you there. Problem is I'll go broke from driving all over in the HOPE that I find somebody hiring. I live in a bedroom community. No REAL jobs here. It's an odd town I live in.

Here you have two choices. Be a whopper flopper, or a Bank Teller.

And neither of those pays a living wage. Maybe bank teller if you've been there for a while.
