Guys, I am putting two new bearings in an OS55 and the new bearings came with both sides of the bearing sealed. Do I need to remove the inner facing seal for both bearings so they will be properly lubricated while the engine runs, or is it OK to leave them sealed?

If the seals need removing, what is the best way to do this? Will they just pull out if I pry them with a screwdriver?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I always remove both seals or shields on my rear bearings and the inside one on the front bearing. A very small flat end screwdriver is what i use to poke out the seals, once you get in under the edge of the seal, it just pops out. You will only damage the bearing cage if you go at it like a bear, go easy and you will be good.

If it doesnt move and its meant too... use WD 40. If it moves and its not meant too...use duct tape!
