Not into computer specs anymore but for some reason think this is the one, will it work, is it too much, not enough or is there a better deal on something else.

This computer will only be used for Realflight, Phoenix, web surfing, and other minor things like word and excel.

Generally speaking, any graphics card with about $200 retail price will do adequate job for games released in that year.

Unless the PC is branded gaming machine, it will have inadequate power supply for add in graphics card. So, you may have to invest in both graphics card + improved power supply recommended by the GPU manufacturer.

That one does have a Radon 4200 in it, I think that's why I was looking at it.

There's a place in St Paul, general nanosystems, that builds them. I think I'll just go there on Monday and have them set me up.

That looks like a chip based GPU. The problem with those are that they have to share your main memory with graphics (extremely slow for graphics standard). If it was mounted on a card with dedicated video ram, then it might work well.

Most of the low end computers nowadays do have GPU in it. But, share system memory to cut costs. For business graphics, that is plenty. But, for 3d intensive gaming, you need GPU plus dedicated video ram. To do this, a video card must be purchased.

The systems like above work for most as not everyone plays games.

If they will let you, you can take RF G5.5 to the store and ask them to try it on their system. If the frame rate is adequate, then you can buy it.

While it sounds like a bargain, after you add a video card + PS, it may end up being more than if you spent another $100+ to get a system with a GPU + dedicated video ram on the card itself.
ATI Radeon HD 4200 graphics
Features up to 1919MB total available graphics memory as allocated by Windows 7 for lush images.
Key word above is "allocated by windows" which tells me it is a shared memory and the GPU is on the motherboard and not a separate card.

Thanks Red. I'm going to have one built with a separated video card, I thought that one was. I haven't kept up with computers for about 10 years so all those specs are foreign to me.

Taking the RF in is a good idea.

Something like above will work well for your needs without breaking the bank. When you do a search, look for "Gaming computer".
