Hello, can somebody please confirm for me that the entire antenna on a 2.4 system can be installed in fuel tubing, even she actual antenna tips? Or, do the antenna tips need to remain exposed. On my new heli, with the canopy installed, the tips hit the canopy. Want to avoid rubbing

Fuel tubing should be RF transparent like the canopy.

I use fuel tube on all my specktrum antennas and have had no range problems at all. I have my telemetry aerial in fuel tube as well. Great protection so far.

2.4 receivers wrapped up inside of an all balsa air plane fuse does not give any problems, why would fuel tubing?

Fuel tubing or antenna tube is fine. Range check before and after and find out for yourself.

I find the small diameter tubing used for pneumatic retract landing gear works better than fuel tubing. Holds the antennas better than fuel tubing, but they are still loose enough should a close encounter with the earth cause the receiver to move. I stick the tubing on to the structure with a little Goop.

And, yes the receiver works fine with the antenna ends inside the tubing.

The older I get, the fewer things seem worth waiting in line for.

Remember, the only part of the antenna that is important on Futaba FASST systems is the short stripped end.
