Installed a O.S. 50 hyper in my X50.
Noticed that the head of the motor fits tight aganst the fan shrowd.
I am wondering if the shrowd will melt when the motor gets hot.
If so is there any way to prevent it from hapning?

If I'm not mistaken, the 55 has a slightly shorter head than the original 50, which is why the 55's don't quite rub. It shouldn't hurt anything, it wont melt but will prob rub the anodizing off the head after some time.

My OS .50 fit VERY tight. I had a hard time starting all of the screws. I havn't flown it yet.
All I can say is it is a .50 helicopter, and I'm sure they took into account the dimensions of the OS .50 when they designed it.

one of the guys at my field is having this problem. We suggested using a Dremel to take the edge of the frame down just a milimeter or so. Just enough to get the engine and fan shroud in. We'll see how that works.

Had to remove the portion of the shroud over the head of the KME 60, no way was I going to jam that one in there.

I have to think that any 50 size heli not properly proportioned for a hyper 50 is missing the mark in that regard. An extra couple mm of space for the fan shroud over the head would have been nice.
