But its all good. damage isnt as bad as it looks and the mechs are fine except for a bent feathering spindle.
What happened? total engine failure while i was high and far away. luckily i was able to turn it around during the auto and steer it in a direction that brought it closer to me. touchdown point was still out of my view but i kept it flat and hoped the gear would earn its keep and it did. 2nd crash with a scaler this year but as the year is at an end, chances are there wont be any more til next year
post crash investigation revealed the crash was my fault. i had to pull the vent line from the muffler and forgot to reconect it. in flight, the engine leaned and died. what a dufus i tend to occasionally be
well, damage is light so she will fly again

It's cool you have a upbeat attitude about the rebuild. Man I'd be crushed, to me that fuse looks like a complete loss. Good luck with the rebuild and yes, that pilot dude has a skid mark in his pants now

Thanks guys,
crashes are a way of life. you try to keep them to a minimum sure but even while i am spending hours at the bench building and detailing i know that it can be all lost in a second.
after 25 years, you get to be able to tell what damages are bad and what are not and i have rarely had a crash bad enough to write off.
its not my first crash and seeing as i plan to take this hobby to the grave and beyond, it wont be my last

Bummer on the crash, but you're in good company. I crashed my 1/4 scale, one of a kind, e-power converted Dave Patrick Super Cub today and it's a total write off He's out of business and I'm out of luck. 100's of flights on that airframe and what got me was a bad power switch to the RX...

All helis and planes have an expiration date stamped on them...you only find it after you crash!!

LMAO. Notice how cool he is about that? For an ordinary scaler that would be the end of this ..... Sell it for parts! But for Emile this is as easy as baking a box cake. He'll be done by next weekend. *

Wayne - Fly it like you stole it! You're in good hands with Runryder!
