Cool That's my old huey, never build it. I wanted a bigger fuse, so I sold it to him. Sorry to see him giving it up. Sucks when life gets in the way of a perfectly good hobby It's a century fuse with Hawk pro mechanics converted to e-power, running 6S lipo. You're gonna have a nice early NAM era bird when your done.

Cool can't wait...since it's already done I will probably leave the mechanics in it, but I have a couple nice XeroG Rappy conversions dying for a fuse

Barry,
I have a Century Cobra and a new set of Hawk mechanics. I thought of using them in the Cobra with the new Century electric conversion with clutch, but there are concerns that the size of the fuse scaled up a bit would be too much for the mechs.

since you have done the Century Huey, what is your opinion on this plan?

Thanks in advance!!

Well got half of it sanded down...when school is done on the 2nd of FEB I will finish sanding then start adding the details to the fuse...gonna try and make it as close to the real thing as possible. Don't like the landing gear so I will probably get some brake line and go to work. Have to design the 24 shot rocket pods and am half tempted to cut out the side doors as well...we will see. If anyone has some extra green houses I could use one or both. It's a 90 sized century huey.

Pretty much will look like this, with the exception of the chunker and it being all OD green, the gunfighters logo on the front with yosemite sam, and the B 1-9 CAV markings. Have to get with pops and see if he remembers the tail number

Heli143 (Roy): I didn't do the install of the mechanics, that got done by Neverhappy after he bought it from me. This huey is 56 inches long, that's approximately the same size as the century cobra at 58". My guess is you'll be swinging 700mm mains. I have never used these mechanics, so I can't comment on their strength or durability. I imagine one limiting factor might be gear ratios, but you'd have to ask Century about that.

Thanks Barry.

Joel, sorry to divert your post a little.
I am interested to see how you handle the mechanics on your huey.
Any plans to change them or aer you going to go with what is in there now?

I dont really care for the century mechs, however, I dont have any other electrics, All some form of rappy 50's, but I plan on reworking the tail a bit, specifically the gearbox, dont really want the plastic one, and will also convert the head to a Kasama head as I have a few available. The mechanics I would prefer to use would be the rappy 50 Xero G conversion. I have one of these in my 50 size loach and I really like the setup. The yellow MD500E was a 90 size bird which i traded the rappy60 for a eraptor 620...had to modify the boom and I put 2 e620 lower frames together to get the heigth right. The Rotorway heli also in progress has a eraptor 620 upper fram assy less the front 2 servo bays and the lower fram was cut from some 1/4 inch plexiglass...so we will see what I can do. Currently the mechs are out of the fuse, all the lighting has been removed and it is been half sanded to the base. Going to finish sanding, fix a few blemishes as well as the few places that need some glazing putty, then add the scale touches such as antennas, pitot tube, etc. Im in school right now, but I will be back to work on it around the 3rd of Feb

Thanks Joel.
I also have a E620 sitting on the shelf but when I placed it in the Cobra the main gear was almost touching the fuse sides so I was considering other mechs.
I may have to look at them again and try different positions, etc, to see if maybe they will work out.
