I just modified the standard head .
Extend the link from the mixer on the grip arm down to the clamp bolt at the base of the head. Space the ball out so there's no binding....adjust that length till mixer is level at 0 degrees .... too easy .... Use a Mikado or Klone mixing hub.....

Go fly.......

Michael,

I'd recommend using the MA designed fury55/furion 6 FBL head. Fewer links and therefore less potential slop imho.

Cheers,

New MA F6 head is pretty awesome, not sure I would look at anything else for the F55.

Why put aftermarket heads on the Furion 6 or Fury 55 when a MA head is available?

One problem I can see with modifying the flybarred head is the pitch rod ball/link is facing out with more potential to pop off in flight. The MA FBL head has the correct pitch arm with the ball on the end, less likely to pop off and the distance is already built in. The swashplate driver is build into the head block and phasing is fixed at the correct position (see Align just brought out a copy of this block). The MA FBL head to me just looks right and not "cobbled up" with spacers and a large hole through the head block. Dave

The MA Head look's a real treat too

Also, the MA Head has a built in pitch gauge (Marking's on the hub and blade grip) So finding 0 Pitch on the grip's is a doddle.

The pitch markings are a great feature others should implement that as well.

Do the pitch markings come on both of the grips in the kit? Mine only has the marking on one of them.

I would not rely on the pitch marking when settings up the heli, they are not all that accurate I have found.

I have both the Fury 55 & Furion 6 both with this head & they were both not accurate.

I couldn't guarrantee any of the pitch settings as I couldn't read the markings that well. The answer was to purchase an angle cube off ebay. Its a cheap invesmtent and apparantly accurate to 0.1 degree.
