Ok, so I had this tiny wrapped package under the tree which turned out to be a trex 250. I was surprised to see that it came mostly assembled. Anyhow, finished putting it together the other day and I noticed the tail has way too much slop in the grip area. I'm sure it's the same problem I've read about on here. My question is does the v2 model state that it's a v2 somewhere? I know it's not an se but it would seem like for this thing to have been on the market this long that I should not be getting one this poor. Bought new from a pretty reputable shop out west. Irregardless, what's the fix?

I have an SE and it had a lot of tail grip slop. I doubled up the bearings and fixed the slop. You will also need longer 2mm bolts. I switched the tail servo to a Futaba 3157 and fixed the wag.

I have several extra new in package tail blade grip assemblies and some are much worse than the one on my heli, and that was right out of the package!

250 tails are sloppy. a couple of things that I've seen/done that help is
1. put a big servo on the tail (Futaba 9257 is what I have)
2. Replace the wire pushrod with a CF pushrod, get rid of the guides.

Honestly the tail hold pretty good for me as long as I don't go backwards too fast even with loose grips and tail slider.

Pretty sad shape if you ask me, I mean mine is s-l-o-p-p-y. I spoke with Nate at assurance this morning and I'm pretty dissatisfied with their answers. Basically they told me that there have been three versions of the tail at this point and it looks like I have the second. I expected them to at least offer to send me the newest hub and grips but he told me that I'd have to order them and try it. I'll be damned if I'm going to buy replacement parts for a new kit that shouldn't be this pathetic from the factory.

Lesson learned I suppose, I've had pretty good luck with my t600 and t500 but this thing is poopoo as far as qc goes. After dealing with assurance customer service and them not offering to help in any way, I don't think I'll ever buy another align product.

Now I have all the electronics for a micro heli, wonder if the gaui is any better??

Gaui is the same. Do a search and you will find all the same problems and rants. The newer tail grip assembly won't help either, they are the exact same. If you want to get rid of the lateral play in the grips, you will have to install 2 bearings per grip.

Slop will not kill your 250, binding will. Binding is so much worse. But the slop can be removed few ways. But what worked for me the best was original small bearing (orignal kit came with 2 small bearings in each grip) + upgrade bearing + new hub + new grips ( new grips have more weight).

and this is a must.
1. put a big servo on the tail (Futaba 9257 is what I have)
2. Replace the wire pushrod with a CF pushrod, get rid of the guides.

New tail holder set. If you get this, it will already have the upgrade bearings. does not include original bearing

A better servo will help like the guys have said. I opted for a Futaba micro 3157 so I would not have to fight with it being tail heavy. Night and day difference.
