I have flown my 250 many times and never had any problems out of the ordinary. Yesterday I went out back on the golf course to do a little flying and as everything was normal during the spool up, but when the motor reached about 75-80% throttle the tail aggressively goes to the left the heli jumps up about a foot then the motor shuts off. I immediately hit T hold when this happened and approached the heli. after just 2 or 3 seconds of it shutting off the swash went full negative and that was it. I still had movement in all surfaces. The esc did not have any beeps that weren't normal on start up. I tried again with the same batt after resetting everything and same problem. I went inside and got a few batteries to check and it did the same thing with 3 different batteries. I've never seen a heli do this before. Any ideas what is going on????

-Thanks

Steve

I had that happen to a receiver after I crashed. Must have cracked the board.

This heli and receiver have never been in a crash. Since I am in New Mexico and in the mountains I thought maybe I was getting static, but I used a WD-40 pen and covered the belt, same problem. So I am absolutely clueless as to what is happening. I do have another receiver laying around I might try and use. I also thought it might be a problem in my DX7 but I flew my mini protos with no issues at all...

I used to have lots of troubles with the mainshaft bearings getting notchy and interfering with my PCM systems. I am 2.4 now and haven't had this trouble yet.

Ya I've never had any problems on 2.4. I wonder if something could have gone wrong in my esc? There's no way to check for that other than send it in is there?

I had the exact same thing with my 250 last weekend. Tore it all apart last night and found that one of the motor wires was rubbing against the motor. I thought I had made sure that couldn't happen but it did. Insulation wore off and the bare wire shorted against the can of the motor. I think my ESC may be toast at this point. something to look at.

Ill have to take a loom at the wires when I get home... I don't think they are close to the motor but it could be. Im running a scorpion motor with the align stock esc... any way that could be a factor? I've flown it numerous times and never had a problem before???

I didn't see it until I took the motor out. I haven't messed with the Scorpion but I hear it's a pain to take out and put in, might be worth taking a really close look to see if that's it.
