I agree mojave, the ****ty thing bout the notar, is the mechanics cannot be flown outside of the fuselage! Didn't think about that before I got into it! So I'm looking for the the sytem with a self leveling feature that is the easiest to set up! I do like the price of the v-bar 5.0. I haven't mastered forward flight with a flybar yet, and this notar will take probally 2 summers to complete, so I'm hoping to have forward flight and circiuts down before then anyway, who nows by that time there will be even more systems and newer versions available! Thanks for all the help! Greg

I feel for ya bud. I went all FBL and my flying improved 100%. Call it cheating, but it makes me happy and having fun at the field is the most important thing Convert one of your pod/boom machines to vbar and fly your A$$ off, the crashes are cheaper than scale...

All helis and planes have an expiration date stamped on them...you only find it after you crash!!

easier for a beginner?
yes the skookum sk720 is harder to setup than some other fbl systems but he mentioned a multiblade heli.for a multiblade i would go with the skookum fbl system because it has blade phasing. i like electronic blade phasing better than mechanical phasing because i like my linkage straight up and down.

Not any more! The latest firmware upgrade that just came out includes a very quick and easy to use setup utility. Now it’s the easiest to setup.

The auto leveling function is awesome and can really save the day. You just flip a switch on the Tx and the helicopter does to level flight. Once the GPS interface comes out it will go to a set location and hold there. The GPS will also have many more nice features but it will probably take a few more months get all the firmware written.

Thanks! I was waiting for some input on the 720.what about after the initial set up? Is easy to tweak and fine tune? I hear there is a governor upgrade coming soon.

Yes Mr. Skookum is working on the governor function.

The SK720 is a bit more expensive so if you don’t need the extra features you may want a less expensive gyro. My SK720 is on a Trex 550e and it really performs well. I am going to try the new Futaba CGY750 on a larger helicopter this spring. Futaba is very experienced in making gyros so the hopes are high for that new product. It’s suppose to be much less sensitive to vibration than the current gyros on the market but time will tell.

Um stuck between the vbar 5.0, the new hellicommand, and ythe 720. I like the self level featuere of the sk720 and the hellicommand. Going on a big scaler with 5 blade head and no tail rotor. So this one item I am willing to spend more money on!
