I called futaba with the following question of a 7C radio. I have my gyro (GY401) set to switch "D" with up being HH and down bing Normal mode. However in my parameter menu, channel 5 (gyro channel) was set to switch "E". regardless of which switch I assigned to channel 5, even a dash, the gyro still worked properly. I called futaba and asked how this could be. They did not have an answer and noted the gyro should not work if the parameter for channel 5 was not set to the same witch as that in the gyro menu. Just to keep things consistant, in the parameters menu, I changed channel 5 switch form "E" to "D". Anybody else notice this? I always worry that if I throw a switch for 1 thing to happen, it will effect something else. I wish there was an easy way to see all the switch controls.

I'm about 99 percent sure that if you activate the gyro menu then it over rides the setting in the parameter menu.

If there's a monitor screen thats the best way to see whats going on but I dont remember if the 7C has that or not.

I agree with you about the override, you would think the futaba tech would know this. I do not believe therer is a monitor screen.

Eh, its Christmas week, the guy may know everything this is to know about OS engines or some car product but happened to answer the phone when you called.

Your question is pretty detailed so unless you happened to get Bill or Krysta or someone that specializes in Futaba air radios...

I've fooled with Futaba radios forever and would have to find a 7C to play with to know for sure.

I understand what you are saying thought I have called futabe in the past for various reasons. I typically always get the same person. This was the same person I got today. I did call once and talked to a lady that seemed much more knowledgable, it must have been Krysta.

Summarize for me not so much what was happening with your radio but how you'd like it to work/be set up. What function on what switch and how, etc?

Hello Ben, I would like my switches to do the following. I have them working the way I want, but not sure if working correctly.

Sw A: inoperable for nitro, timer for electric
Sw B: throttle kill
Sw D: gyro, hh and normal mode
Sw E: inoperable... I set this switch to the d/r and expo for all controls with the same setting for each switch position.
Sw G: throttle hold
Sw h: trainer

Thanks

OK, now we can go back to your perception of how it's all playing. What part(s) are you concerned might not be working right, and what is/are the components doing that would lead you to the conclusion that they might not be acting as they should?

It worries me because there is no way to make a switch inactive. I am worried that even though I have a switch programmed for one function, is it interconnected with another function. For example, like I explained at the start of his thread, the parameters are interconnected with the gyro. Even the futaba tech doesn't know how the programming interacts because he said my gyro shouldn't work if the switch assignment does not match yet my gyro is working. If he doesn't know, how am I? It just concerns me that because switches are assigned in multiple screens that I may be flying one day, hit a switch, and something unexpected happens.
