I was messing around with my radio today checking the settings of 1 model to set up a new model. I was in the gyro screen of an existing model where my "A" setting was 50% and my "N" setting was 50%. I scrolled down the gyro menu to see what other options there were. The one option is to select the type of gyro which is either standard or GY. I got into this menu and scrolled to verify the options. When done, not making any change, I then checked the radio with my existing heli. I could not get the gyro to initialize in HH mode. My gyro just kept a steady blink. I re-traced my steps and after about an hour, I learned, that if you change the gyro type to standard then back to GY, the "A" gets automatically changed to an "N". You must reset your percentage to get an "A" back. What was happening, was regardless of the switch position, the gyro seen it as being in normal mode and would not go into HH mode. This could have proved bad if not caught during pre-flight check. Just an FYI.
