Sad
It's sad. I've seen them close here in Birmingham. But let's face it. It's hard to buy from a hobby shop when Internet prices can be 20-30% less. Without tax and free shipping so what if you have to wait a few days for a purchase. Sometimes we can only blame ourselves

Support Your LHS
I try to support my LHS even though it's 30 miles away. I know that sometimes I can get stuff cheaper on the internet but that won't help to keep the doors open at the LHS. I buy a lot of parts from him and other stuff whenever I can.

I try to support mine but they are more concerned with planks and cars I still go in and ask if they have stuff but they never do. We have several align guys in our area and would easily support basic crash stuff but we end up shopping online because the owner doesn't think there's enough money in the heli guys business

That's why I like our LHS. The guy is a heli pilot! I just got a 700 and so did a buddy of mine and the guy at the shop wanted to know what parts we would like him to stock! You just can't beat a guy like that in my book. I can also order from him online and have the stuff in a day.

yup - that's what i do with our LHS. I call him to order stuff all the time and it's on my doorstep the next day.
Our LHS will order just about anything for you and sell it at the same price as online. It take a day or two more than ordering it myself but at least I'm supporting the LHS (and it still gets delivered to my door).

It's very nice that my LHS isn't stuck on the great planes / horizon supply chains.
