Is there any rotor set that will bolt directly to the Freya main shaft properly; looking at the Compass Model rotor set for their Odin.

Thanks

I only need one!

I used the RJX
It bolted right on and flies well. Have been very pleased with it.

You should try to convert the stock head to FBL... Seen guys with SDX do it. Should be a fun and simple project.

the std head will be easy to convrt
just take off the flybar parts
fit longer blade holder balls
fit a swash driver
make some rods up to go from the swash to the blade grips
it works perfectly ok on the sceadu 50 so the freya will work the same
i have locked the flybar and fitted weights to it and run a freya evo head with the upper arms still on it for a scale roject
it runs as if it was fbl but has the locked bar on it and it works a treat

Payne if you have the right tools you don't need a swash driver. Just use a set screw and drill a hole in the washout base. I here people use the Quick UK ball links though, it's way stronger than Hirobo's. Made of delrin

with the sceadu i used a vario swash driver as i had one
the scale head i used the grub screw method
the one thing i did forget was that i used the align 3g rods as they are thicker than the hirobo ones that i kept bending with the direct connection
the freya evo head with the arms uses the std hirobo rods

A flybarless head really is the simplest of all the rotor heads. Hirobo have made their name based on their superbly manufactured heads - adjustable ratios, adjustable damping, heads for FAI and 3D etc; however, with flybarless, all of that is done via software.

I certainly hope Hirobo introduce a flybarless head, ready to go or a conversion kit. (swash driver, control rods, yoke, pivot balls).

The model will then fly according to the flybarless system's software setup and the head is taken out of the equation (for the most part).

The SDX is very easy to convert. There is another thread in this forum asking pretty much the same question and there is a link to follow there with more information. Here it is below.

FBL Freya
Hey Folks, Love this forum.
I recently acquired a Freya and am converting it to FBL.
The yoke is an SSZII, with the standard newer plastic grips.
To make the geometry right I had to work out link extensions using some logo 690 grip cones and balls and CA'd the spacers/ bushings so it is all one solid unit. All the rest of the parts are all freya or turbulence. The links are quick UK.
Will My contraption fly?
I am wondering if someone with a LOT more experience than I would take a look at this thing and give me some feedback pro or con, as this info may either save me from shredding the machine and maybe me or someone else, or save me from dropping $487.00 at HiroboUsa fan store!
Many thanks in advance.

the one thing I would do is to use a larger diameter control rod
the 2mm rods can bend, my converted sceadu bent the 2mm rod even before lift off
2.3mm rods work better

I’ve never bent a Hirobo 2mm push rod.

As for bending one before liftoff, come on pull the other one

The fz3 head on the Sceadu bent and threw off one of it links before lift off on the FBL conversion
I even asked Dominic over it and he also used the 2mm links without an issue

My SL2 head on the SDX50 runs 2mm links as per the Hirobo head upgrade kit and works fine

with the Sceadu I took note of the Trex FBL head using a thicker control rod than the flybar head, I had some quick uk 2.3mm rods so I gave it a try and it cured my issue

No you won’t, well not for a very long time anyway and unlikely with my Hirobo’s.
