Nice
So does the V2 come with the orange anodized motor mount and clutch bell or are those aftermarket? I likey

Your Cyclic servos don't meet the torque spec I think. MKS BLS 950's are 156oz/in @6V. I looked back in the manual and can't find what the recommended cyclic torque is. I think it is 180oz/in. I am sure someone will comment on this.

I love the red anodized metal servo horns! I have the Align brand on mine run by 8717's.

I am not sure what the difference is with V2 but a common mod for V1 is to use shrink tubing over the tiny screws on the torque tube. They will work lose otherwise.

Good luck on your maiden!

Yes, the new version comes with the anodized motor mount, clutch and clutch bell. Looks kinda cool don't you think

The MKS BLS 950s are actually 159.7 oz/in at 6V. Running them straight off the LiFePO4 I'm hoping to push the torque to about 180 oz/in at 6.6V-7.2V. I like to cut things fine... at least until the new TORQ servos arrive.

Yes, this V90 kit comes with some heat tubing for the torque tube screws, a slightly longer tail shaft, also, unless it's my imagination there appears to be more horizontal alignment capability for the bearing blocks, so it should be easier to mesh the gears better.

Got to be honest I can't fault this kit... famous last words

Dan.

Dan,

Thanks for the pics and updated info. Outrage has a tendency to automatically update the kits with the "newest" fix parts, like main gear, tail output shaft and lower swash, easy way to verify you have the new tail output shaft, look at the end in the case NON protruding shaft side and it should be flush with the bearing and not protruding out.

looking good-just the wiring to go and the good times can roll.

just to be clear folks-there is no V2 kit so don't goto your dealer and ask for it. it is batch no2 of the machine with the new swash, main gear and tail shaft which every owner is entitled to FOC. i'm personally not a fan of the orange but to each their own.

i'm curious as to why you think you have more horizontal movement? to my knowledge none of those parts have been changed but happy to be wrong.

i have the lip on my motor mount hard against the frames-is yours the same? i.e you can't move the motor any closer to the main tank.

one thing to note-your top servo mounts should be on the outside of the frame. the top servo is only held on by those 2 tiny screws and not the mounts that way. the manual is to blame there for not being very clear.

cheers

Looks really Nice.

As far as I remember, this LiFe is rated at 5C, which equals to 10.5 amps cont.

I was just mentioning the specified cyclic torque in case you were not aware. I don't see it anywhere in the manual, I think it was on the box. I could be just over looking it also.

I was wondering who would notice that! I couldn't find any servo spacers so I left the servo mount on the wrong side of the frame. That was, of course, until I got to the spares bag and found two servo spacers ready and waiting for me

BTW those tiny button head cap screws are very weak, one of the button heads completely sheered off the screw while I was tightening it.

Yes you are right, my motor is hard right but the pinion to main gear mesh seems to be spot on with this alignment.

Dan,

Looking good!

Just wondered if your main shafts lower hole has been drilled correctly?

My batch 1 kit has some vertical play on the main shaft which is caused by the hole being over sized. This can be eliminated if you tighten the lower Jesus bolt snug on the auto gear...

Cheers

Steve

Jeez, you had me there for a sec... I thought you must have some seriously razor sharp eyes as my lock nut is currently loose.

The good news is that there is no play whatsoever in my main shaft.

By the way, does anyone know where I can get some aftermarket canopy mounts from? My canopy is already taking quite a beating just from getting the damn thing on and off

i fitted QUK trex 700 mounts on the front of mine and left the back std.

all you need to do is cut the std plastic down a little and put a long bolt throgh the whole thing into the trex 700 post-works a treat.

cheers
