GY701 On-board Voltage reading
The on-board Voltage reading on the 701 is reading 5.3V. This is my set up goal for now. My question is, can I use the reading as a whole, meaning if the Voltage reading on the Gyro is reading correctly, Im good to go or would you check the battery with an external reading device before every flight?

The reading is accurate, but if you're using a regulated system, then you can't really assess what the pack is doing under load. You'll need to use an external checker. If you're not using a regulated system, then you need to stir the sticks when reading or pull up just a little on the swash to load the system to get a true reading.

Honestly, the safest thing to do in ANY case is to check immediately after a flight with a quality checker that loads the pack.

Thanks for the tip!

I will just take my time and hook into a external guage to check voltage every other flight. Im quite certain a 2100mah will go for a good while.

Thanks

~300 'ish mA/flight depending A LOT on flying style, equipment, and cell chemistry. 3-5 flights/charge. This time a year and considering where you live, air temp plays a big role, too, with lithium chemistry as well as NiMH.

Maybe I will look into installing Western Robotics Sentinel RX 2S Lipo Battery-Monitor Bar Display from ready heli?

And yes, I should be back in the air come January, which is the dead winter here in the southern Ohio Valley.
