Total G and Mikado might have to drop their prices real soon..Beast is eveywhere now!
I currently have Microbeast FBL unit ALL my helis and I love it. I think its the best fbl unit out there not considering the price. Now if you consider the price then it will win hands down. I used to be avid V bar user but since I tried the beast after having problems w/ New blue mini V, I switched. Sold all my Vbars to get MB and even made a profit. Its the easiest to set up and most stable out the bunch. I had V and 3G, but not total G so I cant comment, but out of the two, the beast performs better than Vbar. Only down side to the beast was the availablility, but Im just noticing more and more vendors are stocking MB's while only RH is carrying Vbars. Some have discounts of 10-15% so the price will be around 170-190 or so. Also this acts as a regular gyro too so whoever gets a new heli has to get a gyro so why not just get this from the start? Just my 2cents...
is that a new heli? Oh no honey, its the same one w/different stickers.....

I agree with the above. Also had issues with Vbar mini blue line and been using vbars for 4 years so certainly no novice, in fact had problems with the black sensor version as well but Mikado service was excellent and replaced the defective unit but my Heli still ended up in the bin!! Not had the full blue so can't comment on that one. I have just beasts now and they are fit and forget. Still enjoy the Mikado helis though.

I've never fully understood Saitos issues or how, why they were not resolved with vbar but fly what works for you in such case vbars work excellent for all else. I have all current fbl units with latest firmwares available to me as well and regardless of thoughts v bar is still on top and around as many thought it would not be.

Adding more availability in market seems to help all in regards to competition and it presses things forward for us all so that's a good thing.

Beastx is a for sure winner. I had one and loved the heck out of it and it flew amazing. Small footprint and standalone unit makes it awesome. However I will say I have two vbars and do love them to the point I wouldn't change back. I am also one of the beta testers for the gov and got to fly the last version of the software that will be released and it is awesome!!!!! Best gov for me to date.
They bot have their pluses and minuses. So def take a look at all of that and pick one and fly the crap out of it!!!!

I like my vbars, V5.0 set up is a no brainer and the swash phasing for multi blade heads is KING in my book Not bashing on MB or any other controller, I just like my VBARs.All helis and planes have an expiration date stamped on them...you only find it after you crash!!

Does the Beastx have a built-in gov like the Total-G or the newer V-bar? Can satellite antenna hook up to it and be used as a rx too?

I like both of them the only thing about vbar is it dont like nitro machines. The sensors seem to go out on nitros I had to get a sensor replaced on my 700n. So I took the vbar off the nitro and put it on the env electric hopefully this is a little better for it because I love the vbar. Now we just got to see how the mb holds out on the 700n.

Everything will shake out. My bet is; Vbar and the soon to be released Futaba system will be on top when the dust settles. I personally am a Vbar guy, but am going to test out a MB soon. There is no Flybarless System better than a Vbar though. If setup properly, it is the cream of the crop, hands down. Maybe MB, Total G or system XYZ is easier to get flying good, but if totally tweaked, the Vbar is the standard that all others aspire to.

sorry Zaaaguy72 I 100% disagree. There will always be something better, that is what ALL others aspire to, that is the standard!

No matter what I fly, you fly, we fly there has to be forward movement.

Beast and vbar have the same sensors inside :-)

Main difference is beastx has a cheap CPU that has limited room for upgrades.

Top-end units can also take 2-3 sats (beast can't), which gives better resolution & lower lag, and deletes the need for an external receiver, saving $50. Then built-in USB adds $30 in value. A governor would add another $80. +$160 already! And that doesn't include the advanced added features some have.

There will always be a spread of features and prices, just as in any other market.

The difference is going to be the way each individual system feels in flight.

I've flown pretty much every available FBL system at least once(even the CGY750), and I believe with utmost conviction that there is absolutely NO FBL system currently available that will satisfy 100% of pilots. It would be rather short-sited for anyone to think that any one system will suit the needs of all.

I say fly as many FBL systems as you can. Like the helicopters themselves, they all fly differently. Eventually, you may find one that you like.

Can you electronically adjust blade phasing with the beast X like you can with vbar? I also noted that beast x requires an optional adapter to run spektrum satellite rx's and the usb interface is also optional...ie; more expense. All helis and planes have an expiration date stamped on them...you only find it after you crash!!

I have only flown the Vbar, but would like to try out the BeastX and the Futaba CGY750. I have a feeling the BeastX is going to be selling a bunch of units. I have heard nothing but good things about it.When u don't feel like soaring through the air with a plane, beat it into submission w/ a heli!
