Hey heli dudes

I have just purchased the Quick cooloing fan for my rappy.60 with a OS .70 engine.
I have place on the collet and sucured the top nut but I have a bit of a problem with some major vibration at idle. I pulled apart the engine and found the fan was not running true as it had 1cm off.
Now I have found the problem( I think) I need to know how to fix it!

I cannot see anyway to adjust the fan. If I don't screw it on tight it's perfect but of course I cannot fly like that and as soon as I tighten it up it goes off by the 1 cm again

Any ideas????

You can try to shim the collet up a little by putting a very thin washer or shim stock under the collet, between the collet and the engine crank washer. This will raise the collet a little and give you a different position that the fan bottoms out at, this could potentially help align the fan by having it positioned on the threads a little bit differently.

Did you try smearing washing up liquid on the collet before placing the fan on top? The liquid acts as a lubricant allowing the fan to slide down on the collet. The liquid will then evaporate leaving a solid fit.
I fitted my fan this way and had no problems.

Theres isn't any way to adjust the fan. It sounds like a defect in the collet alignment. I'd try contacting Quick for a replacement. The one I fitted to my Raptor ran spot on straight from the box and made a noticable difference in how smooth the engine felt.
