Two servos per channel?
Hello Vario community,
I've been researching and looking at the Benzin Trainer, would love to try one. If you're using a 90 degree servo setup, can two servos be used per channel(aileron & elevator one pulling the other pushing) instead of using an additional channel for CCPM? Will the receiver handle two working servos per channel?
The lot I got is not a lot, but I thank God a lot for the lot I got!

If you use the ccpm function on your Tx you will have two servos working when giving aileron and elevator inputs and all 4 when giving pitch inputs.Christopher J

Christopher J,
So the receiver then uses additional channels when CCPM is selected?

I had forgotten this was a direct to swash setup. Was the early Benzin using a servo tray arrangement simliar to the Schluter/Robbe systems?

4 Servo

I still fly my Benzine Trainers with the servo tray and a 4 servo 90 degree set up that goes through bellcranks.....
These are straight runs to the bellcranks front sides and rear...
The older Schluter/Robbe systems that I have worked with in the past had the "rocking" type servos.... and I think that some Minature Aircraft used a form of this set up also.....
Now some of the newer versions and larger versions of the Vario line do use direct servo to the swash where the servos are installed directly to the side frames....
Hope this helps to clear up your question...... Stan

All the Benzines I fly are using a servo tray like Doorman mentioned with pushrods and bellcranks they are designed for 4 servo CCPM but I run mine on 3 x 120. If you run the 4x90 setup you will have 2 servos working together on swash direction inputs. The Tx does the channel combining for you.Christopher J

On the Futaba radios the parameter setting for my Vario Trainer with the 4 servo tray 90degree setup is H-4 (on the 10C) or SWH4 (on the 9C). Each servo has to be pulled into a different channel on the rx.

B.T.D.T.,
that's a very robust looking setup with the four S9206's. Do you need this much holding power? Two S9206's per input is really strong! Would say, two S9252's or S9202's be sufficient for the Benzin?

9252's work great, I have built many Benzin's with the 9252 servo's without failure and good response.

That setup was recommended by a friend of mine. And that's a lot of money in the air, so a few extra dollars more is well worth it to me.
